You should add a description explaining what your channel is about. A lot of people won't click videos if they can't read a channel description. It would be helpful if there was a brief description for each story as well. But I'm not sure that that is as important. I'm really enjoying your stories. Thank you for all the work you put into everything! Dandelion clouds (that is what I have always called them) have a very special place in my heart. 💚

I don't blame them for running away... there's no place like home in old age, no matter how lacking in creature comforts. Beautiful story Sarah 🤗❤️

Years ago my grandmother's best friend lived down the old dirt road a few miles from our house in the Missouri Ozarks. Her name was Blanche and she was in her late 80s. This story reminded me of her except for the being feeble part. Blanche hand milked a half a dozen cows and had a big flock of chickens that she sold milk and eggs to the locals from. She had a huge garden and you'd be hard pressed to ever find a weed in it. She mowed her yard with a old reel mower and used a woodstove to cook on even though her son had bought her an new electric one. She drove an old tan car from the 40s that looked like new and she would fly down that old dirt road like she was in a race. It looked funny since she was so tiny she could hardly see over the dashboard. She was no one to mess with either as she kept an old double barrel shotgun hanging over the door in her kitchen and if you rolled down her driveway and she didn't know you you'd be greeted by her holding that old gun that was about as long as she was tall. She'd always greet you with a big howdy and a smile that I still remember like it was yesterday and I'm 62 years old now. They don't make people like her anymore, she'd keep up with most men as far as getting the job done which is hard to believe but true. I use to spend the night with her when I was young and in the morning we'd walk down the pond a catch a mess of bluegill and bulkheads then she'd cook them up with fresh eggs and some veggies from her garden. Once she turned 90 her son forced her into an old folks home even though there was nothing wrong with her. Imo it ended her early as she passed less than a half a year later. I have more respect for that old woman than I have for anyone I've ever known and think about her often still. Too bad there's none left like that old hill woman, the world would be a better place if there were.

Thank you for sharing this story with us I knew a few people like her when I was younger one of them being my great-uncle he kept 2 gardens that he plowed with a hand pushed plow and you'd never find a weed in his garden and he still used a wood cook stove until he died in his late 80's

I'm 80.....also grew up Mo Ozarks. Had lots of dandelion greens and other 'wildies'. It was a hard life. Late 60's did bring telephone, running (and hot) water, indoor bathroom, electric washer, gas stove.....to the farmhouse.

They may not have lived very long at the Old Women's Home, if they had stayed. I don't blame them for running away. Thank you for this story. All parts of the Dandelion plant are usable. Dandelions are not weeds. Wine or jelly can be made from the flowers. The tinder young leaves can be cooked and eaten as greens. The roots can be dried and used to make tea (or roasted to make a Coffee substitute). The long tap roots of the Dandelion help bring water, minerals, and air deep into the poor soil they grow in. As Dandelions grow they improve the soil so much that other plants shade them out as they take over. Consider yourself lucky, if you have Dandelions growing on your property. They will help improve your soil. Plus, you can eat them if times get bad. .

If by some cruel fate I wound up in a care home, I wouldn't have to run away, and I wouldn't be there a month either. I figure they'd throw me out b4 sunset! I'd probably make sure of it too. This is a story I can really relate to. Old people and old trees don't transplant well. I do plenty of well-founded bellyaching about TinyTown, but overall I don't intend to leave either. I've got these people around here trained after 21 years, and I lack the stamina to break in a new bunch somewhere else.
