The day he plays FF14 is the day he comes back to his OG channel. And honestly in my opinion, its going to be a while. Personally, i think he connects with his channel with his mom which is also the good times he had. Which i think he hasnt really been back on it. Ive watched Asmon for a while and the happiest ive seen him was him playing FF14. So i think he connects the happiest times with that channel. Though its my opinion and observation.

Asmongold's mom passed away during the time period he was streaming FFXIV. He seemed to be genuinely enjoying the game and having a blast making new friends, and then he immediately went through the toughest time of his life. I can totally see where playing FFXIV on stream may be hard for him emotionally and why he wouldn't want to play due to that.

FF14 by the time he tried to do Stormblood and then quit, made me realize something: Man might as well be carried so much/hard/often in WoW and other games that he might as well be King Xerxes in 300, and will essentially ragequit if he can't be carried to victory so he can then farm content on something. And I legit believe he only got as big as he did because man looks/acts like THE typical WoW fan in every way (besides lacking the weight) with his voice, actions and even the stereotypical nolifer MMO room. And is probably one of the only "main" WoW player channels left on youtube of note after Blizzard has constantly chased away too many people because of botching expansions and someone who's a giga simp being unwilling to let Sylvannas go instead of keeping her around eons after she should have died/been dealt with for her crimes.

Asmons own Wow tard chat was the reason he quit. They’ll never admit it, but there was a lot of WoW players masquerading as 14 players during Stormblood that hounded him until he quit. They couldn’t stand that he was off playing other games and not WoW. It’s why I moved over to Grinding Gear. 14 players and WoW players rallied behind Kyle and Garret. Let’s face it, Asmongold fostered decades of toxic 30+ neckbeards and edgy middle schoolers in his community and by the time he realized it, it was far too late to pivot. He’s never coming back to 14 and you can place the blame directly at the feet of WoW players.

Let's be completely honest... Asmon's "care" of FFXIV ran as far as he could monetize his play through before his chat pretty much forced him to quit. Tou csn say it was FF fans griefing or WoW fans trolling, but the truth is he doesn't run his Twitch activity, his chat does. When you have a back-up account to hide from the toxicity of your main account, you have a chat problem not a content problem. Once the revenue gains of viewers weren't enough to balance out the trolling he got from it, he dipped from playing the game. Let's also be honest about his chances of finishing an ultimate... that was never going to happen either. Asmon plays like a high end raider, and im sure he was one at some point, but since the great WoW exodus and return he a) made a guild and b) used them to get current game gearing. More like an end game moocher than raider, but I'm more than confident that he has the fans to strap him on their backs for 15-20 minute slogfests akin to how his former best from got his legend titles. All that is to say, I hope one day when he actually plays games again for fun he can come back into the game. Asmon is a business man and if it's not good for business he ain't gonna do it. His biggest talent is being able to sniff out the best Twitch trends before they happen and boom! everyone is doing it (look at how much reacting blew the hell up during his "coverage" of the Depp/Heard trial). Right now FFXIV isn't good for business, even for those content creators who've bern doing it for years, and you see those playing it now on stream are either attempting to come up with content during the drought or those (mostly Xbox owners) jumping into the free trial. He still has his character (he's moved from the Midgardsormr server most likely to fly under the radar if he does want to play) so there's still hope that there's a gamer inside that just wants to jump on a chocobo like he used to.

Let's be realistic, Asmongold doesn't like FFXIV, here he is a nobody; yeah his WOW fame will carry him but for how long? How long would it take for his community to stop following him because he invested too much time into FFXIV rather then WOW? I started a couple of months before the WoW exodus really took off, and I've put thousands of hours into it until I quit cold turkey roughly 6 months ago. The patch releases after Endwalker's MSQ have been very dissapointing to me; I don't feel invested in the story anymore, and even the characters have started to become predictable tropes. Now I play WoW SoD very casually amongst several other games, whereas I was ONLY playing FFXIV and that made me burnout I suppose. Can't say Dawntrail has me hyped either. Yoshi-P wants to commit to the same predictable release cycle of content, and it's run its course

I've actually had the opposite. While in game i've had maybe in the entirety of dragonflight two convos with randoms about ff14 in wow but most people just don't seem to care, whereas in ff14 i've had dozens of comparisons between ff14 and wow about this and that. Maybe is different in Reddit or Twitter but since I consider them a hellhole I don't use em anywys. @@xReaghan I hate blanket statements like this as someone who is part of the ffxiv community I can assure you that it’s the vocal minority that end up being toxic. The majority of the community doesn’t care about the drama doesn’t get involved and enjoys the game for what it is. That same majority don’t try to push others any which way. To sit here and say “the XIV community Is pretty damn toxic” is dishonest and lumps the entire community as bad people.

FFXIV art style is okay, but Graphics quality aged like milk and it’s really hard to stand with today’s standards. Looks so cheap in so many lackluster areas. Hope Dawntrail will bring some hope on that aspect.
