Thank you so much for your videos it's great to get tips from one of my favourite guitar players! I'm exactly the same, never ever happy with my solos 😂

I think it’s quite common that us guitarist struggle to walk away from our recorded solos

Appreciate your content, mate! You have nice taste in solo inspiration. I think for a lot of people (that aren't guitar players) the 80's kinda killed the taste for solos. When solos kinda feed the song, they aren't bad, I especially love when solos (usually second pass or outro) are doubling a particularly expressive vocal line. In the 80's though, it seemed like songs became support material for solos. Anyways... your channel has helped to motivate me to put one of my guitars back together, I just picked the strings up this morning. I need to figure out wtf I'm going to play through. I've watched your video on recording direct a few times over the last few weeks. I just want to express my gratitude for you doing the content you do.

Also... for some reason I left this video with The Spinners song I'll Be Around stuck in my head. *head scratch*

Louie Shelton played a lot of Lionel Ritchie's songs and also many others. The "Tim" you may be thinking of is "Tim Pierce."

That’s correct. I did kinda know that but had a brain fart when filming. What a beautiful solo

I know there’s no prize for guessing the 1st solo you played, but nobody has commented:) that is Mark Knopfler “Sultans of swing”.

I love that solo, it is just beautiful. I play that all the time trying to get the bends just right and the harmonics. Love that dire straights bit

What about Nile Rodgers' solo in Give Up (Diana Ross) ? It's definitely one of my favourites, what do you think about it?
