If you watch carefully -you don’t really even have to watch that carefully-During the 1968 come back special rendition of heartbreak Hotel, you will see how very much his granddaughter Riley is like him when she sings. The similarity in her face ; her mouth and the way that she forms words , the same style speed and personality, the smoothness .. it is all there in his grand daughter. It makes me so happy I could cry.

Same here. Finally she said something worthwhile. I came here in 1969 and all i remember was tabloids making fun of Elvis his weight, the drugs, the women. He was already treated like a has been. Now all these people praising him sounds so disingenuous.

No denying the opinions of those involved with E or those in music that offer the how and why Elvis was and is so revered but for me, a fan, I think it's simple. Before I knew how poor he started out or what he looked like, how generous he was, how humble he would remain and the many more features Elvis had.... I heard him sing ...PERIOD. That 8 track me , my brothers and sisters listened to while doing our chores " Billion fans can't be wrong " was everything awesome

Same here with me. I didn’t know what he looked like or anything about him. I still remember the 1st song I ever heard of his which was “A fool such as I” I was playing in the driveway and the neighbors next-door had a radio at their kitchen window which was facing the driveway that I was on. I was maybe 8 years old. I had gotten a radio when I was 11. I would search for that voice, especially on Saturday nights. I ended up listening to a radio station from Cincinnati, (I lived in New England) that would play a lot of his music. That’s when I found out that his name was Elvis. The other song that he sang “The thrill of your love” well that sealed the deal I was a fan forever. To me there was something about the way he expressed himself through a song that was just magical, I had never heard anything like it. I enjoy many types of music but for me he is at the top.

@@jcbones3098 Great memories you have. As a kid my mom bought his gospel Lp's and we played them in our Christian home. Fell in love with his voice long before I saw any tv show of Elvis. It's his phenomenal baritone voice that grabbed me, and the feeling and sincerity he sings with. There's no one like him, ever! His voice was blessed by the Lord for sure. His music lives on. ⚡👍🤗🇿🇦
@jcbones30982 жыл бұрын
@@Wildlife_SA. "the feeling and sincerity he sings with” well said. You know they call him the king of rock & roll because he’s the one that popularized it, but to me he’s the king because of the way his voice comes through majestically on so many songs. And yes he was definitely blessed. I have heard more than one top musician say that his timing in a song was impeccable. Well that is god given natural talent when you take into consideration that he never really had any formal training. He was blessed.

Right !!!? None. Just his talent that which he perfected and his emotional intelligence which shot right through the entire song and let you know how he felt .

Folks analyze every fiber of Elvis's being as if they're searching for some magical formula for success. But, his legacy comes down to 2 things: There's no genre he couldn't sing. Even some of his unheralded songs sounded a bit like Rap and Hip Hop. Plus, he had exotic good looks.
@slackburngirl8593 Жыл бұрын

In Louisville Kentucky mom's doing dishes. I'm slapping my behind singing,. "I'm gonna shake Marilyn Monroe, I'm gonna shake Marilyn Monroe. Mom said, "What are you singing?". I said I'm singing Elvis's new song. "Honey I don't think he's singing Marilyn Monroe.". Took my German wife Petra to see his home in Memphis. I've always wanted to write songs and poetry. I can/ could do that. But never have had anyone encourage me. My brother Bill met him while stationed in California as a Marine. Bill could only talk good things about Elvis. He even got to swim with him and his family. Memories. I watched all his movies have records. My favorite If I Can Dream and of course How Great Thou Art. God Bless you Elvis.
