Remet RP-200 super Red Dragon pro in action. Today we turned a big pile of poplar tree branches, tops and other junk into firewood in a hurry with my Remet RP-200 super Red Dragon pro chunker from Poland. This thing makes short work of smaller logs and branches. Busted two shear bolts doing it though, but it's cheaper to break a shear bolt than tear anything else apart. Perhaps I should get a slip clutch PTO shaft instead. Great cleanup though. Got a big bin of firewood, and made use of the entire tree.
Here is the link to the SHORT video I mentioned in this video of where I dealt with these trees this winter.

Yes, well thankfully we got a couple of inches of rain so the smoke is gone and the grass is starting to turn green. All that is left is the haircut!

Good saw. It would get heavy packing it in the bush all day, but it works well.

good machine

Yes I think so. It certainly makes use of wood that would otherwise get thrown out. There is an obscene amount of wood that gets piled and burned here that could be used. Shoveling it into my my wood burner is slower than using 4 foot logs, but pound for pound I'm sure I am getting the same amount of heat.

Awesome and very effective way to process wood.😀 Why did the bolt break twice from the shaft....machine overload?
@lovesloudcars
@lovesloudcars Жыл бұрын
Yes, I think it's the constant variation of required power. Cutting each piece is essentially starting a new cut, unlike a constant load like a pump would be. That PTO shaft did not come with the machine either. Perhaps the manufacturers don't recommend it, but I prefer to replace a cheap shear bolt designed for that purpose instead of damaging the internal clutch on the tractor.

Always something to fix! The use of the tops and branches just makes sense to me. There are probably into the millions of tons wasted every year in Alberta forestry that could be used & certainly does get used in Europe.

That machine is quite the voracious Beast! When you folks cut the wood that short... Do you need to split the larger pieces or does it cure and burn fine?

I shovel everything that goes through the chunker straight into my outside wood furnace. Anything too big to fit I usually run it through the other processor and split it. I think anything small enough to fit into the chunker will dry down enough without worrying about doing anything with it. There's a few piles of tips, tops and small diameter trees left over from logging that I hope to process with it. those will have dried down even further. My concern is storage. Keeping it dry from rain and snow.

6 , 8 blades?

This is the 8 blade version. I wanted the largest capacity available and the shortest pieces possible so I could use a shovel to load the boiler.

Drill out for larger shear bolt. Or go by grade 8
@lovesloudcars
@lovesloudcars 9 ай бұрын
I actually did change it. I had the factory send shear bolts and they were larger. So I drilled it out to that size. Another factor is too slow rpm. Filled up a trailer last fall with it, and had no more troubles. Thanks for watching and for your comment. Stay tuned for more my friend.
