How is this sold in Australia and Troy pump action rifle is banned.. We have some strange fucking laws
@ozziereviews7 жыл бұрын
Yes because there are seperate rules for importation and that's where they use their cosmetic appearance law federally... in other words the troy pump looks like a cat d so it is cat d for the purpose of import. I highly disagree with this because the gun laws are supposed to be about public safety not appearance and it proves that their laws are designed to ban firearms, not ensure public safety!

@ozziereviews8 жыл бұрын
I always like to stick with 308 or 223 as the ammo is cheap and you can find it anywhere basically... on that tho, there are many other calibre to choose from but which rifle depends on what you prefer, pump, bolt-action or lever action... the choices are limitless and asking what rifle should I buy is a bit open ended without knowing what you like/dislike etc

So, I'm from America, is that like the Australian equivalent of a AR15?
@r0man767 Жыл бұрын
We don't need a replacement/equivalent since we haven't totally banned semi-autos you just need to have what is called a Category C or D license to own one and the only reason they allow you to carry it under that license is for rural pest control (foxes, wild pigs, feral dogs and kangaroos in some certain states).
@jakesoros23769 ай бұрын
Yes, especially for lawful firearm owners who work for a living or live in the city/suburbs (the majority of the populace) and thus can't get a Category C or D license.

So you can hunt with a pump rifle in Australia but not a pump shotgun, why?
@jakesoros23769 ай бұрын
Because the state police associations (their union whom meet with their state govts to request new laws or more funding) didn't want "police-style slidefire shotguns" in circulation with the public, and the government wanted to increase the number of guns they could confiscate in 1996, so they agreed to put pump action shotguns and semi auto .22 LR rimfires in Category C, which only farmers and ranchers could get. Since virtually all firearm owners in Australia owned at least one of each type, it boosted the confiscation numbers, even though such firearms were rarely involved in crime.

I sent a pm but just in case... What optic would you marry to this one? Say a budget of 500. Looking at a magnification suited to this being a 223. And a good reticule..maybe even illuminated. I saw the vortex with the cds review and was wondering is thast toooooo much scope for this one? Thanx for the review...very timely and well done
@ozziereviews10 жыл бұрын
I'll reply here Rob so others who ask the same question can refer to my reply… The Trijicon 3-9x40 is ultra lightweight, very clear and has an illuminated reticle without batteries, it's around $740 from Cleavers which is the cheapest I've seen them anywhere… I put one on my 10/22 and just love it, it is such a good scope which would be perfect for the 7615 as it won't weigh you down and you can wind it right up to 9x power for those longer shots. So if you can stretch just over another $200 ontop of your $500 budget that would be my advice… I have always had a saying you don't put 'K-Mart tyres on a Mercedes' so put something quality on your 7615 as you'll thank yourself in the long run...
@yakabebe10 жыл бұрын
***** And that level of mag...given the range of this 223...youre obviously rekoning its a good fit...good enough for me! Thanx! PS...just tried on Cleavers and got: No products found matching your search criteria. [Trijicon] No products found matching your search criteria. [Trijicon 3-9x40]

I'm interested in one of these but I'm hearing mixed reviews regarding reliability. as in feeding and extracting of the rounds and jams. not sure if it's only the 7600 or it applies to this 7615 as well. in the video you are happy with it but what's your thoughts now?
@ozziereviews9 жыл бұрын
+StealthCamp I had a 7615 long before I made this video, since 2007 actually... The 7615 is a great firearm, I've not had any feeding or reliability issues provided you're using good quality mags and good quality ammo. I love using the Hornady VMAX in them, they love this ammo as demonstrated on the review here. The 7600 has been known to have issues with the after-market magazines, but once again find a quality mag that the rifle likes and stick with it. The 7600/7615 rifles are extremely reliable because they are basically an 870 shotgun in a centrefire rifle, so look how popular and reliable the 870 is? You'll get a lifetime of use out of the 7615, I can support that from my own experience with it...

@ozziereviews8 жыл бұрын
Yes, it's not because even though it's legal in some States, under the import laws anything that resembles a cat-d in appearance is a cat-d, so the only people that can import them are feral pest controllers like myself but why would I waste the import on a pump action when I could import a semi-auto?
@Drvol18 жыл бұрын
