Thank YOU for tuning in! I’m really enjoying the follow ups I’m doing on making this gas system bulletproof. I have a feeling you will find those installments interesting.

Another awesome video! The Remington trigger group is also similar to the 552 Speedmaster. 2 push pins securing the trigger group. Love watching your videos drop!🇺🇸👍✌️

We have one thats shot thousands of shells and still works perfectly. The high/ low brass adjustment is easy to use.

Thank you for these videos on old shotguns. I’m getting into collecting these old autos and I need recommendation. Would you get a 58 or 878 if you want to do more shooting. I feel like the 878 may be a better gun to fit this role for collecting this model but any info would be appreciated.
@MilsurpGarageАй бұрын
The 858 is the same shotgun basically with an “automatic adjusting“ gas system. I’m only familiar with the model 58 and have no problem with the manual adjustment. I always go with “older is better” with some things, but don’t really have enough information to make a 100% informed decision for you. I can tell you that the model 58 is awesome. If you want to be better than that, I would go with the 1100 which is totally awesome.

We have one of these sitting in the safe, it is a 16 gauge...operational, it sees about 6 shells once a year, cleaned, and back into safe...we have some #1 buck, #6, and #8 shot for it, just in case...ours shows the scratches and dings of heavy use, but as noted, it still shoots fine...

Still stuck on removing the bolt handle. Going to take it somewhere tomorrow I cannot get this thing open
@MilsurpGarageАй бұрын
Wow, that bolt handle is really frozen in there, huh. May have gotten some moisture in there or something. There is a sweet spot where it comes out that might be tricky to find…..moving things around as you gently tug the handle might do it. It’s NOT the same sweet spot as the 1100 or others if I remember correctly.

Another good one. I do like gas operated shotguns, my model 11 is kinda unpleasant to shoot with my stout buckshot

It took me three sittings to get through this one but just because of my hectic schedule. Always interesting and educational but this one was especially good.

Thanks for taking the time, appreciate it. If that wasn't enough there is a follow up video! Going to follow up with the options to bulletproof this shotguns gas retention system with a series of follow ups. Thanks for tuning in!

I wonder why no one ever came up with a spring assisted pump shotgun? The Winchester 1300 almost seems to unlock on its own after a shell is fired so why not have a slight spring assist in slamming it closed? I know. Crazy daydreaming and an idle mind is the devils workshop! 😂!!! Edit: there's nothing like having the field to yourself!👍👍

This mod 58 is very much like the winchester mod 1400. just a different bolt lock up.

Sad people have such a short attention span- I like you love the history and the technology, engineering and machine work that went into these guns especially back when everythign was done by hand...
