Reminiscing Call of Duty 3

This is the first reminiscing video of 2024, and today I discuss a game I've been very vocal in my disdain of, Call of Duty 3. This video covers my experience playing the game via backcompatibility on Xbox Series X as well as my thoughts on the gameplay and action. I also tell the story of how I first played this game including how I came across it while in a Blockbuster video-rental store. Please enjoy!

My first COD game was the original COD from 2003. I didnt play it until 2005 right before COD 2 came out. I loved COD 3, the online was a lot of fun, I did a lot of sniping. I played the first 2 on PC, this was console exclusive so I had to play it on my 360 and it definitely felt like a downgrade in some ways compared to COD 1 and 2. Still really enjoyed this game.

Cod 3 is my favorite one tbh, It was one of the first ones i played and it was just a great experience tbh, that soundtrack is heat

It's quite fascinating to me to see a lot of people really enjoyed this game. I definitely thought I was going to see a lot more of a consensus with my thoughts here. But cool nonetheless. Someone else also mentioned the soundtrack and audio and I think I need to make sure I touch up on these in future videos, because it definitely it worth mentioning and I sort of glossed over it with this one. @@IndustrialGamer Ofc man, Solid video and I can see why you or someone else might not have liked it. But it has a lot of good stuff in my opinion, I particularly enjoyed the different “angles” in the campaign and I was very into having multiple story’s going on in the broader campaign. Keeps things interesting

I think this was the first game I ever played, let alone my first CoD game. I personally love this game, though I can easily see its flaws and why people dislike it, but that's just my opinion. Great soundtrack, pretty good campaign, and a chaotic over the top multiplayer.

The mic is ok, could be a bit softer and less raspy. Perhaps some eq settings or pop filter

Bugs and gameplay issues aside, what I love about CoD3 is not only the Normandy Breakout/Falaise Gap setting, but the multiple perspectives of a single operation. Not many other WW2 games give us a Polish insight at all, nevermind showing us the Polish tankers that fought to liberate France with Americans, Brits and Canadians Also the menu encyclopedia was fucking awesome!

20* F in respect for 13 year old you. I was pretty behind everyone back in the day so used to lower res graphics and started with COD 1 but I still never liked COD 3 much, especially compared to 2 it just didn't feel the same to me. CoD WAW will always be amazing though.

Definitely interesting to hear everyone's personal experiences with the franchise. Will be fun to take a look back at World at War all these years later. Although, I didn't care for this game, I love this era of gaming and wish we could return to this level of creativity and output in modern releases. We'll see if it ever happens. I feel like COD 3 gets too much hate in my opinion. Now I will be coming from a biased perspective because it was my first COD game. No it's not on the levels of masterpieces like COD 4, WAW, MW2 and BO1 etc. But I enjoyed the campaign for its story, characters and especially its soundtrack. Soundtrack is the best part of the game for me. As for multiplayer, I didn't really care about it back then and still don't now. Graphics are a step up from COD 2, but just a little tad. But I think it looks decent for back then. Not gonna lie, it is infuriating for not being able to sprint in this game since that would come until COD 4 comes out. And some of the weapons in this game have inaccuracy (By inaccuracy, I mean as in not detecting onto enemies accurately. Not historical accuracy, this game ain't Vanguard XD). Also, I love the ending in this game. It's emotional and pretty intense. This campaign is decent in my opinion. Overall for Treyarch's first installment in the franchise, I think it was a pretty good development of a WW2 shooter. And if you think about it, World At War possibly doesn't happen the way it does without COD 3 in my opinion. COD 3 was like that decent game but wasn't quite... there yet in terms of quality. But anyways, interesting video!

Appreciate you sharing your thoughts! I'm quite surprised to see a lot of people do really enjoy this one, albeit while acknowledging the issues it has at hand. I suppose all of that contributes to this game's character. I think I should've also touched on the soundtrack and audio in this one, as I sort of glossed over that while discussing the quality. It definitely is worth mentioning. Also, that's an interesting point about WaW, I never considered it being loosely connected in that way. Thanks for watching!

@@IndustrialGamer No worries! And to be fair, graphics seem to be something you're very passionate about. I think anyway from this video lol. Which is obviously important in gaming, especially if you're making a franchise. Because if the next installment looks visually unpleasing than the last game theeeen you've really dug yourself a hole. Thanks for being civil by the way. I really liked the game. I just dont like the ps3 version of the game I played the ps3 version on a 27 inch Philips tv completed the game a few times on Easy and normal Years later i completed the game on my xbox one s and 50 inch sony tv A way better experience 😎

With the framerate issues resolved it's definitely a better playing game. Just wish the small glitches could be fixed as well, but as I mentioned, it's a miracle the game is as playable as it is with how fast they had to build it XD
