7:00 There's some kind of deep sounds repetition which could resemble the waves on a shore, but it's alternating with some high sounds in a pattern which just sounds like the breath of someone sleeping. Astouding.
@RemixSample4 жыл бұрын
Hey TijpetX! Thanks for noticing! I like that sound as well. The wave is a kick drum that has been stretched with Paul's Extreme Sound Stretch. And I'm playing a percussive noise patch over it.

They need to make a Valhalla shimmer pedal, I’d be all over that.
@RemixSample6 жыл бұрын
Yeah I agree. The only way to get a hardware version of Valhalla Shimmer now is to buy the Z-DSP eurorack module and the Valhalla Shimmer cartridge. And that's like 500+ dollars, if you don't own a eurorack case you have to buy that as well. So yeah, a simple pedal would be very nice to be able to buy! :D

I'm thinking of spending my savings on one of these. I've been making ambient sounds for years using VSTs like Omnisphere and Reaktor 6 in Ableton.., but I just can't seem to get that sound. I think that this is it. I'm looking at learning a hardware synth to create ambient sounds which I can manipulate and get totally lost in. Do you think this synth is it? Your sounds have inspired me into thinking this. Many thanks.

I would really recommend that you try out The Legend www.synapse-audio.com/thelegend.html (it sounds really analog) and also try and process some of your stuff with Paul's Extreme Sound Stretch aaand get Valhalla Shimmer. That's how I get most of my sound. The Minilogue is great fun too though!

@RemixSample4 жыл бұрын
Get a used one. You can probably find one pretty cheap since the Minilogue XD is out. I would also suggest that you look into fx pedals or software with shimmer reverb. In this video I used Valhalla Shimmer valhalladsp.com/shop/reverb/valhalla-shimmer/
@rorybaker6586 Жыл бұрын
how did you loop these and improv as you went? so beautiful!
@RemixSample Жыл бұрын
Hi! I use Paul's Extreme Sound Stretch which is a free app that lets you stretch out audio and basically turn it into atmospheric sounding pads. I usually create a little audio clip with a couple of chords using softsynths in FL Studio. Stretch that out and then use it as a backing track to improvise over. I record and add effects in FL Studio.
@mustta735 жыл бұрын
Remixsample,a question please...if you have to choose three machines for a beginner...which one you choose? thanks
@RemixSample5 жыл бұрын
Hmm 3 hardware synths... For the type of music I like to make I'd pick a Moog Mother 32, Minilogue XD and a Behringer Model D. And I would use a lot of Valhalla Shimmer valhalladsp.com/shop/reverb/valhalla-shimmer/
@alexmax98326 жыл бұрын
Excellent. But the pad is a loop or a registered and played by internal Minilogue sequencer?
@RemixSample6 жыл бұрын
The pad is just a .wav file that I made earlier with Paul's Extreme Sound Stretch, so it's just playing in the background.

I'm really inspired by your channel man. Thanks for putting out some really lush sounds for us to enjoy. Question: I haven't bought any plugins before, but are you able to play with valhalla shimmer live? Or is it something that you add in post? Not sure what the processing delay is like in a live situation, I guess that's what I'm getting at
@RemixSample6 жыл бұрын
No problem, I'm glad you like it! Yes Valhalla Shimmer is a vst fx that you can use live or if you want you can add it in post, that's up to you. Shimmer is not very CPU heavy so if you have a decent computer it will work great.
@austinbru6 жыл бұрын
THANK YOU! I was afraid to waste my money if I couldn't hear it live. Now I just need to figure out if my Ableton Live Lite (64 bit) supports VSTs. I've tried to download like 5-6 free ones (64 bit), but they never show up even after pointing to a custom folder and refreshing.
@RemixSample6 жыл бұрын
Well, can't really help you there but I hope you sort it out. It gets old having to deal with stuff like that when you just want to play.
@austinbru6 жыл бұрын
Oh of course, sorry I just laid that all out there like that haha. No doubt! That's why I've steered away for awhile. But the shimmer always gets me thinking about diving back in lol.
