We went to NYC about 10 years ago at Christmas and as we were by the Rockefeller tree, the lights went out suddenly for like a minute. It was like 8pm and super crowded so people started to freak out a little bit lol. Also I highly suggest trying to go to Brooklyn during Christmas. It’s so cute and the food and thrift shops are great! There’s Peter Pan donuts which is like an OG donut shop and delicious. Also there is a buffalo exchange in Brooklyn that’s amazing. I found a huge Burberry bag in mint condition for $85.
