With the Nightweaver, as long as your partners are active they can save you from one of the grab kills just as long as they shoot her upon grapple. The second one that's instant I'm not sure about.

the grab in the second phase has a unique sound queue which is different from her other attacks when that happens you can shoot to stagger or cancel the attack but once you've been grabbed youll be locked into the animation and there's no way to stop her from recovering the heart, at least not that I know off since we haven't been successful in doing so with multiplayer

It is possible to still destroy her heart in the second phase its just very difficult to do. Also to those still trying it, level the evade distance trait cause it helps alot in avoiding that mechanic

Spectral blade is my go-to melee weapon. One of the main reasons I like whirlwind so much is that you can use it to smash all of the nearby breakable objects and get the scrap that they drop.

Krell axe was the 1st special weapon I got in my playthrough and hard carried me through blind nightmare difficulty. Probably the best pound for pound melee weapon for a non-specialized build with its ability to freely apply a status effect from range

For the Nightweaver fight: Even if you manage to destroy her heart in the first phase, if she manages to grab you in the second phase and drain your health, you won't get the fingers.

@@luckylee5289 Sadly, if she grabs you in phase 2 she restores her heart losing you the alt kill. it's really annoying when going for that item. Reason some might not know that is that the grab does a lot of damage as well, killing the player in the process if they do not have enough health in the first place.

Well luckily for me I got the melee weapon from Nightweaver this past Thursday and made sure not to be grab, hell I probably would have been like "hey where tf my melee weapon at"? upon defeating her again if I did get grabbed at the time 😂

The Krell axe is amazing, not only does it apply the DoT, but there's a ring that makes charged melee attacks cause bleed. Combine that with the Ravager's pendant and the ring that buffs shock damage, and you've got a devastating opening attack with 2 separate DoTs and the debuff ticking off at the same time.

@@essam007 Looks like the Blood Jewel. You want the Lost Temple map, and the ladder's right by the building with the world stone, behind the optional shortcut door. I've heard it can be at either end of the wee lake down there, either the end with the waterfall or the one past the root zombies. But either way, IIRC, at least a small chest. Though you may, by the time you're on dry land, wish you'd thrown some points into Wayfarer.

I put the blood ring on and the misfortune mod (which applies slow and ramps up damage per status effect). Then I put on the gas valve amulet (I forgot the exact name but when u switch weapons u release a poison aoe). Throwing Krell does tons damage. I add the other ring that increases status durations

I also highly recommend Stonecrusher, its a cracked out heavy sword you get by killing The Corruptor in Yaesha (throne room roll) without taking down the giant statue that defends it (this is an alt kill reward). Awesome mod and damage.

Dreamcatcher is my weapon of choice. charged attack slows everyone around you. it's great for large group fights that help you save on ammo and melee everything down while they slowly try to attack you. only bosses are unaffected by it. but again, it's a great way to control the field.

The Stonecrusher is the sword with the highest base damadge and has an AOE weapon mod, which makes it one of the most powerfull meelees in the game

If you equip the spectral blade with the mutator that adds corrosive to charge attacks you can inflict everything around you with corrosive. It's perfect for ritualist.

A point of note for the Atom Splitter: there are 3 heights at which the robotic arms will grab and raise the platform from, switching between each height each subsequent time they grab a platform. The highest platform will be high enough for you to NOT roll when you land on it, which will prevent you from slipping up and rolling off and dying before you can make the second jump as the platform goes up. The lowest height will just kill you from fall damage. Literally, look before you leap.

I'm actually surprised there's no honorable mention to the Brass Knuckles. They may seem normal and unassuming and hell even underpowered, but you can actually make them deal more damage if you equip the Meteorite Shard Ring as they seem to be considered as unarmed attacks. Add to it either the mist dodge or the Light Iron Ring then you can wear the heaviest of armors and you can essentially become a punching slab of iron.

I'm using that right now. leto mark 2 since im gonna have the highest encumbrance anyways, knuckle dusters, bright iron ring for dodge, and meteorite shard for extra unarmed damage. hit like a truck, fast. You feel like one punch man. its great.

An interesting melee weapon is Godsplitter. It requires charged attacks, but it makes all hits register as weak spot for two seconds. It can be constantly refreshed too.

Tip for Spectral Blade: the special DOES increase in range by 50% if you max out the aura trait (requires coop, someone has to kill you with the quarantine protocol on Nerud abandoned facility) The range becomes insane, perfect for scrap hunting

I do like that the nightshade overrides even ultraheavy neutral dodge to be the fastest possible neutral. Utility even if you dont use them as melee.

Considering I did nightmare/apoc mode both melee only, I will say that the hero sword and worlds edge were definitely nice reward to obtain. Great throwback to the first game, and worlds edge is LEAGUES better than the first game. I had a full melee build in the first game as well, but nowhere near as strong as melee builds can be on Remnant 2. I had to have a full roster of different melee weapons for different situations however, was definitely a crazy ride to beat it melee only.

Little late to the comments but one of my favorite melees is the Labyrinth Staff because of the charged hit - hits the bottom of the staff on the ground to break/damage anything in the box. Edit: you do have to go towards the outskirt of the Labyrinth and face the Bastion if you want - otherwise you can grab it from the pedestal and run.

Neutral evade charged attack hits anything within 8 meters. An 8 meter circle. Anything above you, below you, around you, etc. Enemies, pots, etc. It is a scrap farmer’s dream. If you aren’t scrap farming with it… omg… start. Good luck unequiping it.

Man, these lists are so subjective. But i like how balanced the weapons are, with the exception of Worlds Edge. Many melee weapons with many builds can just stomp against anything it can come in range with. Feral Judgement claws are remarkable. With a high crit build and Mod with massive 10 hit combo potential, Death Sentence, once you get the hang of them, you can easily dish out 2-4k per sequence or combo more with both Challenger and Invader classes... With the right modifiers, this weapon can obtain a near 50% Crit modifier with over 50% additional crit damage. Absolute great for shreding enemies and gives you true assassin style play with the Backstep Charge. The only time I ever swap them out is when I need range.

godsplitter is one of the best melee weapons, guaranteed weakspot on a melee is insane considering no melee weapons other than huntress and krells can weakspot on purpose. Paired with the right build godsplitter can do absured melee damage, become vampire blade and acually heal generous amounts, or with a mod build also do great melee damage as its heavy is both melee and mod. im currently using it in apoc and its decent but any difficulty below and it usually 1 shots.

Stonebreaker is an absolutely nutty weapon. It’s a better version of worlds edge for bossing as it doesn’t have a damage penalty on the sword itself when you use a charge attack.

Nightshade is the best melee weapon for someone who won't melee. It gives you faster Neutral Dodges. Even if wearing full Leto's you will dodge as if Light weight.

I figure out how to trigger the bloodmoon event. It's pointless to move back and forth to specific zones. This way, you won't get the chance to trigger it(I tried many times). Instead, try to advance forward with the primary objective AND if you enter an area where it's clear that the moon is red then it will also trigger to previous areas you already went (it worked out for me). Hope it helps.

I will say this; the only thing that sucks about Spectral Blade is that it's upgrades cap out at around 101 base damage, which is about 75 damage less than Edge of the Forest. While I can somewhat understand that decision because of it's mod, it still sucks that it's damage is that low with it being a weapon from a world boss, especially when compared to another katana that is literally just laying out in the open in Yaesha.

All thrown melee weapons work with "charged melee attacks cause bleed" (20s) you can make it 40s with another ring then stack double with a certain ar plus another from dog boi. All difficulties become cheese

Krell axe is one of the best with the right mods and ritualist as main class it is a monster I use stormbringer mutator it increases the statues effect damage from melee by 50% maxed out mixed with red ring of death duplicates negative status effects it will drop a group of people most the time first hit

I wish Edge of the Forest had a further reach on its neutral dodge counter attack. I wanted to do a theme build with Sagittarius, but its hard to beat Spectral blade as far as katanas. That, and I wish when holding melee, there were different moving/dodging mechanics. Like it would be nice to be able to roll forward into a slash. Also, something I liked from Elden Ring which I wish you could do in Remnant 2, is essentially change the power attack (Ash of War). I know Remnant isn't a melee centered game, just my thoughts.

When I hear people talk about great melee weapons in the game, they always say that X weapon is great because it has a ranged charge attack. I guess I don’t really understand what makes that great. Yes, you can hit things from further away, and that would be a wonderful option if I didn’t already have guns for that exact reason. And from the footage in the videos, it look like they stop shooting with their gun to charge up a blast with their melee weapon to do less damage than they were already doing with the gun. I guess there’s some mutators and rings that could make melee better, and by extension the ranged attack of the weapon. But I’m usually using my melee weapon if I enemies get in close to me and I can hit them easier with my sword than my gun. But I don’t understand the appeal of turning the sword into a gun and making it less effective for the single purpose I need the sword for. Maybe there’s some pros that can tell me what I’m not seeing?

Wait... using the override pin is how you get Aphelion, not the spectral blade. Override pin spawns the metaphysical version and stops you from reaching Alepsis-Taura. If you want the blade you have to kill him normally.
