Removal of Refrigeration Machinery Frame From A Carrier Reefer Container

Can you tell me how much that refrigeration unit weighs? I have a 40 ft refrigeration container and don't need the refrigeration unit, am wondering how much weight it would save to remove it. And how does one put a new end cover in it's place - using the frame from the refrigeration unit, and welding a plate over the hole/s? Or do they sell 'end covers' for that purpose? Or some other way? Any feedback appreciated, total newbie at this, only bought the container to store my stuff in an insulated container, thank you!
