I think its by the the rear of the engine above the transmission. But double check.

Glad it helped. I don't like promoting any specific brands specifically. You can use any basic OBD2 code reader scanner to find a code. Lot of them are very affordable.

I have 1999 E300 with hundred thousand miles the car would jerk only for my wife I have a scan tool the code was a hard fault but no check engine light dear charged me 189.00 for diagnoses and 860.00 for part and install that hurt and they did not have the part in stock I’m still waiting for it to be fixed. Is there any good reference manuals on E class cars

That's way too much, if possible go elsewhere or do it yourself. If you do a quick online search you can find out the part you need replaced, and buy it online and replace it.

Mines just went bad on my 2001 CLK55 AMG. Is this common problem due to a faulty design or something? Update: I replaced my sensor on my 2001 CLK 55 AMG. I could barely see the sensor. At least the connector was easy to pull off. Unusual for a plastic clip to be so easy. After experimenting with different extensions and u-joints. I even tried a flexible extension. But finally, I used a 1/4" ratchet with a two inch extension plus the socket. I broke the bolt loose with the ratchet and finished loosening the bolt with only the extension and socket. I was able to squeeze the bolt to the socket and safely got the bolt out. The sensor came out easily. I superglued the socket and bolt together before I started to install the bolt. Once I got the bolt started and tighten it down. I wiggled the socket until the superglue cracked apart so I could get my socket off. It's really a tight, tight fit. I relied on my sense of touch than seeing what I was doing. But it's doable for a DIYer. I had only got one scratch doing this.

Thanks for your experience. This should help others out! I liked your idea of using the super glue especially if you didn't have one of those telescopic magnetic pickup tools or don't trust tape from holding it in place.

06 chrysler crossfire, I took the heat shield off for this install, once I did that I was able to get a socket onto the bolt holding the sensor, but could not get electrical connector disconnected without removing the sensor first, and was unable to get sensor out without removing the heat shield first

Mine caused the engine to stop: but the car start after 30 minutes and the code showed p2034-l5 and P0335.

Just use a piece of paper over the bolt head if you have no magnets.

Hello, I have a clk, year 1999, but there is intake stuff which block access to the sensor. I had tried to jack up the car but still cannot find it from underneath. Any advice for me? Thanks

I actually don't know how it looks. I think these sensors usually come out from the top though. That may mean you would have to remove something in order to better access this particular part for your vehicle model.

@@FixCarYourself Thanks for your message. Unfortunately, I tried take out intake MAF with throttle body, but still cannot get access to it. As found oil near throttle body, just ordered Oil Separator last week. After receiving it, will try to take out whole intake manifold and injector.....then I think I can get access to it. Will do it two weeks later. Another bad news is leakage from petrol tank....and for this, cannot diy and will take it to garage to fix. :(

@@megeorge4128 At least your able to do some of this yourself. So great job! I have spent hours if not days on some unique repair projects, when I really should have just gone to a repair center or specialist. Seeking a repair shop is not always a bad idea.
