Wow similar happened to me I had one of these for donkeys years dropped it in the drink recently and had to buy another at about 4 times the price 😂 the little pincers on the other end are actually ver handy if you have a tight shot if you give it a squeeze with them it magically loosens it allowing it to slide easily

I am Italian and Stonfo is Italian. I have known this tool for 30 years. Be careful because it doesn't work very well and sometimes you risk cutting the monofilament.

do they work on stots ?? started fishing again last year after 20yrs and have been using your standard shot but wanting to start using stots due to starting pole fishing , Apprently they are better for that style and doesn't damage your line when adjusting depth like your normal shot can .

Got one but it occasionally cut through the line so stopped using it and reverted back to using my teeth. Great when it worked but nightmare when it cut through the line during a match.

Since stottz have come out I’ve just use them as I was always damaging my line with shots and I know stottz move up and down when playing fish but I’d rather deal with that then damage my rigs.

I just use my thumbnail! Bought some of these plier things some time ago BUT found having to firstly pick them up, align correctly was so slow that in the time to remove 1 shot with these id have srted 4 or 5 with thumbnail. And if need to just loosen shot to slide up or down line then these are useless and thumbnail is the ONLY option.

@MatchFishingFilms put the line in the slots on the opposite side, make sure the split is in line, and squeeze it.

Or, just make your own out of a wooden sprung clothes peg with a panel pin knocked though one side and a Vee Notch filed on the opposite end.(you'll get the idea from the Vid'.)
