Thank you. I just got a Samsung S20Fe 5G and couldn't open the SIM card tray. Couldn't even do that and the serial number is not available since the back cover does not come off. You have to get the serial number when the phone is on but I couldn't get into it since I needed the SIM card to even activate the phone. I managed to get the tray out following your instructions, but Samsung is going to have to fix this. I hate things that don't work and they have no info about this on their web site. This must be a problem that is encountered often if people make videos about it.

If this did not work, it's because you were not able to make a hook which effectively catches inside the hole. It is mechanically impossible not to work once you can get the hook right. What worked for me was deforming the end of my sim tray extraction tool in to a nearly right-angled bend at about 4mm from the tip (I did this by bending the tool while the tip was inside the hole, but could be done separately using pliers too) and then puling the tool away from the phone while right-angled hook catches inside it. My sim card tray was particularly stiff so following what was shown in this video was not quite enough to pull it out, but it's the right idea. If the metal of the tool just bends too easily while attempting the method in this video, then making the hook is especially the way to go.
