Tried all of this, uninstalling carousel, in my Poco C65 (Canadian user). If the phone is then shut down for a few minutes, or maybe for an hour, and then rebooted, my chosen wallpaper remains there. But if my phone is shut down for a longer period (overnight), a new wallpaper appears when it's rebooted, and it's a different wallpaper every day, so the carousel still seems it's there, and enabled. So although the carousel should no longer be on the phone (I can no longer find it anywhere) maybe it's still there, but hidden deep within the OS. Do you, or anyone, have a truly effective way to remove this annoyance of a new wallpaper always being active whenever the phone is rebooted after having been shut down a considerable length of time, like overnight? Hard to believe this issue could exist.

I have never actually experienced the same problem you are describing as once I uninstall it it is gone unless I look for it again in the app store to reinstall it. Perhaps check out my latest video on how to remove wallpaper carousel where I show you how to show hidden apps or all including system apps as well, and maybe through that method it is removed more efficiently. @@Fylosofy_ I think I found your video you referred to. On my Poco C65, when I go to settings>Apps>Manage apps-click on three dots-show all apps,.'I can see a Mi Wallpaper app. But clicking that shows only the option to Uninstall Updates. Mi Wallpaper is also set to No Permissions Allowed. I have previously found my way to this screen, and clicked the 'force stop' and 'clear data' options that are there, but that did nothing to prevent the wallpaper carousel from, apparently, giving me a new wallpaper every day. So still at a loss as to what else I can try.

Thanks, I wanted tonget rid that thing. Anyone have this problem: when I go to recent apps (square button), long press on an app, instead of displaying the contextual menu, the "recent apps" app freezes.

That's a system glitch. They'll probably fix it in the next update.

Thanks, I got rid of it, but I still have the problem that HyperOS is blocking some of my apps from functioning properly. And no matter what permissions I grant to the apps, they won't work. I suspect it's some deeply buried security setting but I can't find what it is, aaargh

Is the OS up to date? Sometimes a reinstall of the same OS can also fix the issue. The same procedure as updating but you just installed the last package instead.

@@Fylosofy_ Unfortunately, made no difference. For example, Chatgpt. Won't start at all, just gives me a white screen with a black circle circling. It works just fine on my other devices so I don't think it's the server. I've uninstalled/re-installed/rebooted multiple times, given it all the necessary permissions, still won't work...

Sorry, I've never experienced this problem this severely so I don't have a working solution for you. I hope someone else has and comments here to let you know.

From settings? You're actually not the first to mention this so I re-installed it again to make sure that it's removed and on my device at least, it still works the very same way. So I'm not sure if it is certain models or firmware installed that has this change.

It's model dependant then. I'm very confident anything with "wallpaper" or "carousel" in name isn't in my app list. Also I've looked at other videos , and it looks like ppl are making videos on how to install that shit :)

After your comment earlier, I literally went to look for it and it doesn't show up the the regular Google play store but it does in the "Mi Picks" store. Then I installed it and looked for it in the settings like my video. So while it doesn't show up in the storage> Apps section, it does show up when I go to settings>apps>manage apps> then I can uninstall it there. Also worth noting that there is no uninstall option on the play store where it's installed once it's installed, it just says "installed" and there is no option to uninstall it there. I could only uninstall it from the apps and manage apps section in settings.

Ok , I actually was able to handle that. I have a Poco m4 pro. Carousel was installed by default. It didn't showed where you said , but after clicking 3 dots in upper right corner , then selecting show all apps , and then typing into search , I was able to locate and remove the idiotic carousel.
