I blue taped a frame around the work area(ez clean off ) . Hair Dryer works great to remove badges and stickers . Goof Off on the adhesive with a credit card works well . The Eraser makes easier , quicker removal . Less elbow grease. Final pull tape and use combo cleaner wax .

Hi there. I have a 2017 Chrysler 300 SRT (Australia). It’s had vinyl stripes that have been removed, and they seem to have damaged the paint/ clear coat. Did you get ghosting where the stripes were? Or, is there still some adhesive left on my paint that needs to be wet sanded?

If you have the drill going in reverse, the wheel unscrews when it makes contact with the surface. If the drill is in forward, you can stop the wheel from unscrewing itself by waiting to pull the tool away from the surface until it is stopped.

I used to use the bigger erasers wheels but same thing. I would use the wheel and remove all the decal even the smudged parts. Then use windex and a razor blade in hand and spray as I would scrap.

It might have helped a tiny bit, but honestly the sun was absolutely BEAMING onto the car anyway haha. I truly don't think there's much that can really help 17 year old stripes come off easier, especially when you consider that's most likely 17 years of the sun baking it onto the vehicle.

Haha trust me brother I'm on team Stripes too. It is nice though to switch things up for a little bit and have the car all black. It's also interesting to see what others think and which look they like better, but I definitely plan to put the stripes back on down the road. I used a heat gun to remove my stripes with no problem and then used rapid remover to remove the adhesive.

Currently doing this on my 08 Gt blue with silver sun damaged stripes. Burned in some spots on bumper too with wheel, not gonna use it on plastic parts like bumpers and hood scoop and spoiler. Plastic blades are slow but work.

Gave up for now. I should be able to just cut it with my polisher once the thicker part of stripes are gone. Got touch paint for the spots I burned in on bumper.

Don”t use the eraser wheel on plastic parts like the back bumper, that will damage the paint. Also, I used a corded drill that I got from my Dad that was about 50 years old, not exaggerating, and that works a lot better than a cordless drill.

Haha yea bit too late for that! But yea a corded drill would def be better for the job since no batteries would have to be recharged.

@@greeneyechristie If you burnt through plastic you're most likely out of luck. If it was a metal panel, it SHOULD just scrub off unless you burned through really badly.

I just got an 08 premium it’s just the v6 but I still want to build it I’m a GM guy since I was little never owned anything else this is my first Ford and first car I’ve had a truck and suv never a car before do you think it’s worth modifying the v6 model

I think it's worth modifying any car if you love/enjoy it enough. That being said, I personally wouldn't heavily modify a v6. Maybe an exhaust and cold air intake + tune but that's about it. I'd rather try and save money to modify something even more dope in the future. Even with my v8 GT I sometimes wonder if I should stop modifying it to one day mod a modern 2018 - 2022 GT.

No no no, don't get it twisted. You should definitely wrap your car to preserve the paint if that's what you're looking to do. This only happens if you leave the wrap on for nearly two decades while also leaving your car out in the sun day in, day out. This is a worst-case-scenario so to say, and will most likely not be the case for you. I suggest you do some research to see how to best take care of any sort of vinyl you plan to have on your car for an extended period of time.

Trying to remove hood bra from 2008 GMC. Nothing works!! Should have paid a local body shop the $1,200 they wanted to sand and repaint hood. Every KZbin video makes it look so easy. They Lied!!

Haha, the reason why it can appear easier in videos versus doing it yourself is the age of the vinyl, and whether the vehicle has been stored indoor or outdoor. Mine was an absolute headache to remove, but it's because the vinyl is extremely aged and has been baked onto the car under the sun for nearly 2 decades. Try using a heat gun if you have access to one, and best of luck removing it!

You was supposed to use that clear rubber circle that comes on the wheel to keep it from spinning off and tighten it on the drill when you stick it in 🫡

Use the 3m brand wheel. These look the same but the 3m remover wheels work WAY better also try to run the rpm’s as low as possible going full 🐗 doesn’t work well and burns up the wheel
