My car was vandalized while went to the theater to watch a movie with my wife. The assholes that vandalized my car did a very big damage to every panel on the car and even scratched the word "fuck off" on my trunk. I was quoted $10 grand to repair and paint the whole car 😢

Got keyed this morning at a public park. Made a call to a local car detailing shop and got quoted $380 per door. Mind you, I was keyed on two doors (almost the same size scratch as yours). You definitely saved me some $$$ man! I’ll shoot some karma points your way 😉

Very good job and video. My brand new Corolla got keyed on the roof, two feet long today. Very upsetting but I got most of it out with some compound, then polished. There is a special place in hell for people who key cars for the sick thrill of it. Guess it's because they know they'll never be able to afford a new car.

My new Camry got it on the hood sometime in the last two days. It's like an 8" clear coat scratch but it kinda goes from the left front corner of my hood then diagonally up the hood. Doesn't seem possible if the scratch goes against the normal wind direction while driving. Looks like somebody put their hand on my hood while their keys were still in that hand then slid their keys for 8-10"

Gret video, I have a 8 inch clear coat scratch on the front left side of my hood. It goes in a weird direction but i think i can get it out. Never had to do this but your video is extremely educational. I purchased the maguire scratch removal kit. However, the wool disc and steps that came after that you suggested seem like they are going to help tremendously. I think someone at work doesn't like that I purchased a new car. Ridiculous that anyone would think this is ok to do to another person's property. Wish me luck

He really did. I've been watching videos all evening to find products to repair scratches. Since I noticed a white line on my driver's side door below the handle.It's just so overwhelming to see the damage, especially when you make it a point to be so careful.I wouldn't even make an attempt. I would definitely make the damage worse than it is. I'm definitely saving this video. Maybe I can hire a reliable person to follow his instructions on this video. It would be less expensive than going to a collision shop. I wish I was confident and capable enough to do this myself.

So I have one of those Dupli-color pens, the ones with the paint brush/pen on one end and a clear coat foam brush on the other end. Instead of sanding away all that clear coat to get rid of the scratch, wouldn't it be better to fill the scratch with clear coat from the pen, then 3000 sand to level any high spots, buff and polish, then clean and apply ceramic coating?

Thanks for the video i greatly appreciate it, my 2024 forte got a nice lil scratch and I had no idea from what or who, I drive very safe and keep it immaculate and well maintained, so I instantly noticed it. Going out now I think I’ll skip the sand paper (although I will buy some) and just try a pad mine seems not as deep. But love love the guide man..

Thank you for this video, I got keyed last night in MY driveway because a part of my car was on the sidewalk to unload stuff from my car. Got my RSX in a auction, when I went to go pick it up I noticed there was a plastic sheet covering the passenger door because I guess when the organization that sets up these car auctions received the RSX, they couldn’t bother use a battery jumper and simply roll up the window, instead someone’s bright mind decided to use this plastic sheet and when cutting it, his knife made contact with the body of the car and left a good 30 inch key scratch on the door lol.

i have this haze from 1000 wet sand. i used all the way to 7000. then tried compound with the furry pad. and the black pad. haze is still there.. any ideas? do i need to dwell in that spot longer? or what am i missing?

I came out and my car had been keyed from head light to headlight. I was so pissed. Insurance didn’t want to fix it cause it was deep and the whole car needed to be resprayed….

The ceramic coat definitely helped in the scratch not being too deep. Would be interesting to test this definitively to see exactly how much.

Body shop told me they would have to remove my tailgate and paint the entire tailgate for a 1 inch scratch. What do you think should I try your route or try a color pen?

I would recommend Dr ColorChip or TouchUP Rx over the color pens, but you should be able to repair a 1" scratch to 99% perfection.

We were playing football with my friend at a public place. The whole place was full of mud. Suddenly this F150 came to us with the high beams on and wouldn't bring em down. We stopped playing at looked at the car which was also tinted. He literally obstructed our play space. He turned the car off but wouldn't come out of it. We even reached to the door but he wouldn't open it. So we decided to seat on the rear bumper of his car, and the dude turned on the car and was backing up... He was a real asshole and wouldn't even show his face. After a coupld of minutes the dude got out of the car and went walking to McDonald's. We left that f150 deaplly keyed and scratched with rocks. Dont talk about karma, you knew what you were doing by parking there, likewise the owner of this f150 knew that he was an asshole. Just dont be an asshole.

ROFL~ This is not a deep scratch! A typical buffer with an orange foam pad can make the scratch disappear in a few passes. You don't even need a sand paper to do it.
