When i pulled my 14ft off the trailer i used 3 44gallon drums and 2 ratchet straps... Strapped the back of the boat to the garage supports and got dad to roll the car with the trailer hooked up and i rolled the 44s under with a non slip pad between the boat and drum... Used 45°wood chocks to chock the drums and she sat there for a few weeks stationary

That's another way to do it. I was thinking of using the garage rafters to lift the boat but Apparently rafters are not meant to hold more than about 100lbs.

risky but you already mentioned all the right reasons however... now how to flip the boat with limited tools or space... i need to flip my 16 starcraft over to work on the belly!

Thank you, I seriously wish I had done this video before I started my build. Now that it's full of framing, and decking, and electronics, I don't think I'll be flipping this one over. My advice, is to use your fork lift.... but if your fork lift is in the shop maybe make some new friends down at the gym to help you out.

you know you can take your boat and set it in the yard that's what I did with my first John boat build. then the way I got it back on the trailer was hook it up to the wench and crank it back on the trailer once it was fixed.

When the boat is over 600lbs and you do it by yourself you still need a way of lifting the boat off the trailer. Unless you enjoy back breaking pain I guess. lol

SMG Fishin' it's coming along very slow. I keep getting a head of my self. so I having to slow down. I got it painted and sealed up. foamed in and working on my support system for my deck.

I went to NC to pick up a 23' with a flybridge and it didn't have a trailer... I had to bring one... that meant taking a buddies boat off at his house and putting that one on... It sucks all the way around swapping boats on trailers. I would rather do my jon boat 100 times than that glass boat again... keep up the good work... I do stupid stuff all the time... more so when I'm by myself... just no way around it sometimes lol Jeff

It's not stupid if no one else sees it lol. I was thinking about doing this with a fiberglass boat earlier. it would be a challenge to block it up in the right spots so you didn't cause any cracking or bending. Thanks for the support.

A set of jack stands would of been a better option as you could of put the boat on the stands and move the jack to where you needed it next.

They do make something called SAW HORSES... they are also not hard to make using 2X4 and can actually be covered with some carpet to protect the bottom of the boat... Good job though,,, BUT as a 33 years Mechanic in the military... work smarter and safer not harder..
