Removing Bible Tabs With Iron 🤔 First attempt!

I think tabs are pretty on other people's Bibles, but I don't use them because I like a plain/streamlined aesthetic. Well, you got one off so far!

It seems like this technique works best for the tabs that aren’t directly stuck to the Bible pages. The ones stuck to old Bible tabs came off easier. I admire your courage and creativity with putting them on in the first place. I love Bible tabs but don’t want to risk tearing the pages.

You will probably have to reheat the tabs to open them for reuse. The heat melts the glue. It must be tricky to balance between melting the glue to remove the tab and not melting any glossy covering on the tabs. You could also try putting a couple of layers of paper towel or tissue between the iron and the tab to let the heat go through without the hot metal actually touching the laminate or plastic. Has anyone ever tried that liquid used to help remove stickers? I don’t use physical journals, but that might also be worth a try.

I hope to try the paper towel method. I did do another bible and I was very careful and didn’t burn the plastic .Good question about the stickers, it may depend on what they are stuck on

Have you ever tried “Un-Do”? It safely removes stickers, tapes, labels, and adhesives. I am a paper planner and have used it for years to remove my stickers. It does not leave your paper wrinkled or stained. I know that tabs can be stickier than stickers but it may help. You are a blessing Char! Love watching your videos!!

I think I like the lighter tabs just a hair more. What if you used a dishcloth between the tab/page and the iron? I imagine it would heat the glue but not be direct heat on the tab itself.

I’m currently removing tabs out of my life application study Bible large print and I’ve ripped so many pages I have to tape almost every page back together I won’t be tabbing any more of my future bibles 😂

Yes, I had to go Back and put washi tape on the place where the tab was originally
