Removing final drives and tracks on a CAT D10R!

In this video i remove tracks and final drives on a cat d10r- which is the same process as removing them from a D10N D10T and D10T2.

One method we used to dismount the track on his machine was to (before unlinking) take 5cm square section tubing and make a small 1.5 meter long "ladder" with some rebar as threads and place it on top of the track, tying it down to the track with chain wrapped around the track, loosely. Doesn't need to be tight, it just needs to unify the two. Then we removed the link and used a crane (vehicle) to "hinge" the whole affair off the machine. The "ladder" was placed from the middle of the last buckle before it goes downwards towards the ground, leaving the forward end floppy, so it clears the gubbins up top.

How NOT to use a diesel in 4-low, even though that thing seems built to tackle thing a flatbed should never do, I know what a diesel can do to the dog house or bell housing when it comes apart. Heck, I've even seen a 4-cylinder Toyota truck through it's clutch THROUGH the steel bulk housing directly above the flywheel. Little old 22-RE 2.2l engine. My mind was blown, no WAY it should have done that.
