Just a couple of suggestions. Put your dirt back in the hole as you dig. It will be loose and will not effect the stump coming out. This way you will not have a big hole to drive through. Your engine speed is fine, but slow your transmission down. Also if you do not have liquid in the rears, it will help keep you on the ground.

You have a nice video. I almost hate to say this but old rotten stumps don't need a stump bucket. I have a root grapple and all it takes is a good push to break them loose and the grapple will pick them right up. Having said that I am interested in the stump bucket you are using because they certainly are a necessity for living trees with live roots. Nice video.

Dig 360 degrees around the stump. Minimize the slope of your entry ramps. Yes that leads to a larger diameter hole, but if you really want to get the stump out you can not get stuck.

I was so glad to watch this video. You actually showed that there is a bunch of different ways to tackle a stump. However you made mistakes and clearly showed them on this video. That’s what I call a “Real Man”. You made the mistakes, showed us so we could learn, did not edit them out, then told us what you really should have done. We Do Not see that much here on You Tube so thank you so much for your honesty and vulnerability on this video. I learned a lot watching this video. I was not criticizing you here it was just stuff I learned by watch Good Work Tractors 🚜 videos about their stump bucket and using ballast weights. I know you have had the Titan for some time now. Have you caused any damage to it? How many stumps have you removed? I need to remove 13 stumps from my property. One is 19 inches across by 14 inches wide. The others are smaller and go down in size to 9 inches by 6 inches. However I am at a loss on which Stump Bucket to purchase. Good Work Tractors 🚜 does not have them very long, total 27 inches of dig in. They are trying to protect the loader. This is my dilemma. I know seeing the tip of my stump bucket will be very difficult if I purchase the Good Works Tractor one but I also Do Not Want To Ruin My Loader. I own a John Deere 3033R tractor. It looks like you have a lot more horsepower than I have but don’t know that for sure? Basically I am trying to buy the best stump bucket that will work for my tractor. Any of your insight is greatly appreciated. Good Work Tractors sent me a quote with ballast weights telling me it’s 100% critical. Your video definitely proved to me that Courtney from Good Works Tractors was a honest businessman and NOT trying to up sale me. Thanks so much for this video. I appreciate your honesty and NOT editing out your mistakes. You are A Real Man. 👍🚜👍🚜

@@dpistone10 I have only removed about 10 stumps but some were only 6-8 inches but I have used it for lots of different projects. I have not done any damage but looking at your 3033r specs you have close to 32hp and your loader can pickup close to 2200lbs in my opinion I stress that it is just my opinion you might be pushing the limit of the Titan stump bucket. I think it would be faster to use a stump grinder attachment but then it will sit around or you can sell it because I don’t think you can do anything else with it. My B2601 only has 24.5hp and 950lbs of lifting power. Hope that helps have a great Sunday.😁👍🚜💨☀️

How far away to dig depends on the species of the stump, so your 6'-10' may be reasonable for big old oaks. Guessing that was a cedar of some sort, and their stumps aren't spread quite so much, but they don't rot to much. Yellow pines will have a long tap root, and present their own challenges. The general idea of these stump buckets is to break up roots with their teeth and the hydraulic power of your loader. If you try to push too hard with the tractor, you'll experience the joy of broken hydraulic lines. You don't usually need to move so much dirt.
@MJADoingStuff3 жыл бұрын
Thanks again for spending the time to leave a comment with great information. I don’t know what kind of tree it was I thought it was a oak because a small oak tree was growing out of it. So the next time I do it I should try to rip at the roots while lifting and backing up. We are learning as we go. Thanks again 🚜💨💡😁👍

Did you add those hooks yourself? Apologies if I missed that part. Are they weld on, or bolt on? I'm thinking about getting one of these stump buckets and I'm torn between this one and the HD one. I also need to dig some trenches, so I figure it will be the same amount of money to rent a trencher or buy a stump bucket, which I could also use for stumps and rocks.
@MJADoingStuff2 жыл бұрын
Yep 👍 I welded the hooks on. Just my opinion but if you have a compact or sub-compact tractor then you will be fine but if it is a skid loader I have seen pictures of the locking pins on SSQA tear out the bottom holes on the stump bucket. The weight of the HD model will also take away from lifting capacity too. Anyway just my 2 cents. Thanks for checking out the video have a great week🚜💨💡😁👍

@@MJADoingStuff Yeah, I didn't notice the weight of the HD bucket until after I commented. I will likely get the same one as you to save the weight. In your opinion, would bolt on hooks work on that one? I'm not a great welder, but I put some bolt-ons on my regular bucket and they are awesome.
@MJADoingStuff2 жыл бұрын
I would think 🤔 that Ken’s bolt on hooks would work. If you have a grinder then I think you could make adjustments to the hooks so the drilled holes are not to close to the edge. I have a video showing the hooks being welded on so you can see the edge I am talking about.
