It really helped me with my new tire machine because when you said you “left the pedal down” to clamp, that helped me with the clamps wanting to back off because I wasn’t keeping the pedal down. Thank you for those details

No problem. Took me a few to figure that out too.

Thanks for the video. Some tips for consideration: 1. Lubrication. Use your strong arm assist (or your hand) to push the tire sidewall down so you can get the lube ON THE BEAD all the way around the tire. Lubrication just on the sidewall (as you applied it) and not on the bead is doing nothing to assist tire removal. Consider using a spray bottle to apply liquid type approved lubrication versus a swab when dismounting tires. For mounting, I switch from liquid to a paste type approved tire lubrication. Also, lubricate the duck head itself with approved tire mounting lubricant. 2. Pull off the cush drive sprocket (aka pulley) assembly to give your tire iron more room to properly lever the bead over the duck head. Your tire iron should be levering 180 degrees directly across from the duck head and you should only need one tire iron for the entire process. As an added benefit, removing the cush drive gives you an opportunity to inspect the internal rubber dampers. 3. When positioning the strong arm assist opposite the duck head before levering (to get the tire into position to slide into the drop center), place the beveled (pointed) side of strong arm assist head perpendicular to the wheel (not parallel and touching the rim as you have it) and keep it ~1-2 inches from the rim. As you lever the tire over the duck head, the strong arm will "float" towards (but never touch) the rim, allowing the tire to enter the drop center. Practice makes perfect. Good luck!

This is awesomel, great tips. Thanks very much!

Older pulleys bolt to the wheel, no cush drive.

When you were pushing down the opposite bread with the strong arm, was that preventing the assembly from turning, thus causing the clamp slippage?
@OctaneElectrons Жыл бұрын
Yes it can if you let it bind up. But it is useful to keep the bead in the drop center of the rim. Have to watch it!

Love it. Excellent machine for shop or hobby use.

Adjust the grip attachments so you can flip it upside down. Then you can use the one iron to pull that bead over the duck head.

right on thanks!

Has anyone ever used this machine to change a dirt bike tire with a mousse tube?
@OctaneElectrons Жыл бұрын
No. I've changed many dirt tires with it, but only regular tubes.

No way. 3 levers to remove a tyre you must be joking!
