I own several acres of land. also I use airsoft guns to vet drills build muscle memory and practice weapons handling skills for real guns obviously I do these things at my home and usually Outdoors so yeah I like to have an easy way for my neighbors to realize I haven't finally lost it and started hosing down the trees so the orange tip does kind of help until after I fired the first shot also I practice force on Force or what you would call playing Airsoft in my front and side yards visible from the street so yes having the airsoft guns easily identifiable as airsoft guns is kind of a good idea also all law enforcement and Military that use simunitions have those guns designated by being blue or some other off the wall color and yes I want time was playing Airsoft with a guy who had and XDM and an identical XDM airsoft gun he was putting the real XDM and I told her to go play and one of us called him out on it. no I'm not defending him he's a dumbass but that orange tip let us know he was being a dumbass

Figured I'd mention it. In the US, orange tips are NOT REQUIRED BY FEDERAL LAW. Title 15 of the Code of Firearm Regulations (15 CFR 272), which stipulates that "no person shall manufacture, enter into commerce, ship, transport, or receive any toy, look-alike, or imitation firearm" without approved markings; these may include an orange tip, orange barrel plug, brightly colored exterior of the whole toy, or transparent construction. However these restrictions do not apply to "traditional B-B, paint-ball, or pellet-firing air guns that expel a projectile through the force of compressed air, compressed gas or mechanical spring action, or any combination thereof. Airsoft guns are classified in the same category as bb guns, pellet guns, and paintball guns, and DO NOT NEED AN ORANGE TIP. It is NOT illegal to sell one without it, or remove it.

I only ever leave the tips on handgun replicas, since the tip id covered by the holster most of the time anyway. But on rifles, I replace the whole flash hider. The orange tip WILL draw extension on the field. I use the leave the orange on, but people kept telling me how easy it is to spot. If you are a serious milsim player, and you exercise proper firearm safety (if it looks like a gun, treat it like a gun!) I don't see a problem with removing it.

So what's going to stop someone painting their real gun's tip orange and then walking down the street, killing people before they know something's wrong. I think though, if you're going to take the orange tip off or spray paint over it, don't brandish it in public.
@balljoint585310 жыл бұрын

@domenik833910 жыл бұрын
I'm glad you pointed that out, and it had been done before. The reason police don't trust the orange tip is because criminals have painted an orange tip on the gun to make them hesitate. Regardless though, people have no reason to point one at them, so it wouldn't really matter. But anyway, some states allow the open carry of firearms, replica or real. Its only illegal to brandish a firearms if you have bad intent of why you're brandishing it. Its a very debatable and gray area of the law.

if 16 and have a grade 2 firearms license. you always either wait for the target to aim at you or you loudly stat for him to put it down and again most "kids" arn't going to be in their backyard with a real gun.
@IminDeadSpaCe11 жыл бұрын
Gonna go ahead and call b.s. on that. Just because you have a licence to have a gun doesn't mean you're a responsible owner. It just means you passed a course to get the gun. As for kids having real guns in their back yards, I remember recently some 10 year old kid killing his little sister with a rifle given to him by his father for his birthday last year. So yeah, some kids just might be playing with guns in their back yards...people are stupid. It's high time other people start realizing it.

I live in Canada where we don't need orange tips. But still, this video has advice that even us non-orange tipped regulated people learn from. My local gun store requires that you walk in with all guns in a case, plus tell the tellers at the front that you are bringing something in. I recall, 2 yrs ago, walking in with a replica BB gun. I pulled it out of the case to show the staff, and 2 other staff came over, concerned, and asked: "Is that a real gun?" When I told them what it was, they were amazed, but also intrigued. I am amazed at how many gun stores are not aware of the replicas available in the airgun and airsoft world.

There is no law (In Texas where I live) saying that you can't remove the tip. Also I should have mentioned that I got the gun new on eBay, I would send you the link but it appears that it doesn't exist anymore. (maybe it got removed because of the lack of orange tips on the guns) This is how you act like an adult and talk about things instead of just blatantly calling me a lier when you don't know anything about my experience in purchasing and receiving the gun.

But what if you take a real gun and paint the tip with orange paint (outsmarted)
@scarmenl11 жыл бұрын
The only thing I could suggest is make a cover for the orange tip when out doing games with your buds. That way you best hide but still have the orange tip for day to day.

Me and my friends where playing a little game in my front yard (which is relatively small) when all of the sudden 3 squad cars pull up and all policemen have their guns drawn. If I didn't have that orange tip on my rifle I would have had a nice little section in the obituaries the morning after.

Its Fine for CQB but out in the woods that orange tip really stands out, I would recommend you cover it with black tape at least. Just treat it like its a real gun and you shouldn't have any issues.

Do you think it is fine to use a removable orange tip, and take it off when at an airsoft battleground in VA?
@joemorton92004 жыл бұрын
Should probably keep that on. Maybe avoid getting shot, it's a good tip. Maybe just make them look less like guns, redesign so they arent identical

Have a look at a Calico rifle and tell me that its not a sci-fi toy, then realize its real. Guns come in every shape, from ink pens like James Bond (requires a $200 tax bribe to legally make in the US), to vulcan mini-guns and everything in between. Not only that but airsoft is often practice for the real ones, and the design is already ergonomically sound plus you can get your favorite replica from video games or the Hollywood movie film you love and get to play with that. If you want non-real looking ones those are also made, but not popular because they just don't have the same feel or re-enactment fun. Also I've seen real guns that look more like a toy than some of my Nerf toys (actually one of my Nerf toys is a firearm using a hydrogen explosion, but not counting that one), I've even seen cap guns that look more real than real pocket pistols which I could have sworn were cap gun toys themselves! There are millions of different firearms, and your average joe hasn't seen half of them, even extreme enthusiasts haven't seen half the firearms made and they can be any shape or size or look like a walking cane to a briefcase like the CIA used.

@@jakegarrett8109 in Britain we don't have any of that, we don't want to get shot
@jakegarrett81094 жыл бұрын
@@joemorton9200 do you mean the toys or the actual weapons? Because drug dealers and rape gangs do, just YOU don't. Just like they have knives or any other weapon they want but you aren't allowed to carry a knife doesn't mean they don't. They just put it in their jacket or conceal it any other number of ways. As for the toys if you want non-real looking ones buy the clear transparent ones (if those are even legal for you to purchase) as they show the internals are electric and not real firearms.

@@jakegarrett8109 our gangs dont really have them either mate, england literally doesnt have these weapons, there arent gangs in the UK having shootouts. We only have about 30 gun deaths
@jakegarrett81094 жыл бұрын
@@joemorton9200 They stab more people per person than the US. For a quick statistic the entire US (population 330 million), we have 300 deaths/year from all rifles combined (AR-15 is Americas most popular rifle, over 15,000,000 of those known to be in the US), compared to car wrecks of 3,000 deaths per year in the state of Texas alone (10x the deaths compared to rifles from the entire US). Blank conversions are popular there and the infamous world renown Lutty Machine guns (a British bloke in his shed published a book on how to build SMGs in your garage easily and has spread the info across the world and often used by gangs due to simple build process), so there are indeed machineguns in the UK, the guy that wrote the book on improvised machinegun guide was from Britain, lol!
