If I use gel on my locs it's 2 days before I wash & only apply at the roots. I have a loose curl pattern with fine hair & if I were to doa retwist, I would have to use gel to keep the twist. With my hair type, I find it easy to interlock & crochet any stray hairs in. Beautiful job on cleansing her hair & styling.

Mine is the same way. Some ppl can only use oil but my hair won't hold with just water and oil. Ugh
@GilliMarieMoody8 ай бұрын
Thanks. I dyed my grayish roots then, suddenly, it was like most of my locs had whitish cream spots about an inch from my scalp. The bottom locs were mostly cream(!). After some soaking then, thoroughly rinsing out the lemon🍋, ACV, baking soda and water, there were still a handful of cream-spotted locs, near back, but they were very faint so, I dealt with them as best I could. Then, time for a lot of oil then, several pin curls, er, buns. Five hours later, I’m under mom’s 1960’s portable dryer🙂. Cheers.

Love your videos! Couple questions. This doesn’t look like a set of locs that you regularly maintain ( way more buildup than normal). So I’m curious what products this client normally uses to cause that much buildup. Also what shampoos are you using particularly the clarifying shampoo. Thanks again. Can’t wait for the shampoo bowl update

locking_kilos thank you! Sorry for the delay. It was product build up for gel with every retwist. I’m current using taliah waajid clarifying shampoo. The shampoo bowl set up was uploaded today :) kzbin.info/www/bejne/iJ_IqK1pabSlbMk

Is this loc bath a new thing (new recipe) ? I’m seeing videos of people doing the bath for the first time after 2, 5, 10 and even 12 years of having their locs. And the water has been super dirty in all the videos. Which means people didn’t detox because it didn’t exist up until a couple of years. Are this particular detox didn’t exist otherwise they wouldn’t go so many years without a detox. I’m just shocked people are now doing this.

I know you're doing a good job there. However, I'm not for twisting especially this tight as it would eventually make the locs thin out and eventually pop if continued. I've had locs for bout 8 yrs now so I'm speaking from experience. I almost lost some locs due to twisting and now I've stopped they're really blossoming and getting healthier and thicker. Using a comb on locs too is a no no. It interrupts and slows down the locking process. This isn't personal. Just a tip.

That’s why I dont use products anymore. I use. Water and tiny bit of glycerin to lock. However i only wash with hot water and witch hazel or vinegar. It’s helping a lot and I think my sons hair is going through the “detoxing” process bc of it. For some reason it’s starting to get this crud in it and I think lack of moisturizers and change in products is part of that. I think the product it makes the build up blend but when it dries u start to see the dried up product. My man has dreads and his look clean and sparkly and all he uses is water to twist his hair. It’s pretty crazy. Less is more, right. Also I learned that if dreads aren’t properly rung out it will hold soap which turns to some of that crud later.

Your removal of product worked wonders. Her hair looks brilliant. Would your solution of ACV-plus remove the hardened, instant edge control and shine and jam that the lady put in my hair to attach the fake hair to my roots when braiding it? The edge control is so hard that it looks and acts like super glue in the one area next to my new growth in each hair section. I've tried shampoo, detangling conditioner, leave-in conditioner, and gently finger-pulling my wet hair with conditioner. I managed to get a few sections free of that glue, but it took hours. However, a lot of hair came out, which wasn't just shedding. I think I might have to wear a wig to work before I get all this glue out of my hair. Can you help me? Thank you.

Good morning, can I just say, you have done a wonderful job getting a lot of the product build up out of this persons loc's. But does this not show, that you really do not need to be using any products in loc's to avoid this from happening? I believe that loc's will grow regardless and perhaps just use 1 natural oil in your loc's and this product build up will not happen? I believe that whatever you put in your loc's it will eventually show itself, less is always better...Great video 👍👍
