Great job but would it not have been easier just to remove the double socket and get a better finish for the sake of removing 2 screws?
@queenbabylonia45942 жыл бұрын
PLEASE NOTE. this method cannot be used on the actual plug sockets.. it would be very foolish and dangerous to just cut wires on the house electrical ringman. Do not do this for plug sockets.
@msk39056 ай бұрын
I’m sure people are wise enough to disconnect wires from breakers before cutting and leaving in wall taking any danger away.

Nice job. Thanks for the video. Whenever I've done something like that, I've just used pollyfilla but it takes a long time to dry as it's so thick. I guess your method of foam and thin pollyfilla is quicker.

Thanks. In the past I used pollyfilla then moved to undercoat plaster which drys faster and better suited for deep holes.. top off with pollyfilla

Your videos are spot on every time if need to do anything for my house I’m straight on your videos I’ve honestly learned loads thanks. Here’s a question I have 4 sockets mate but the sparky removed the back boxes. If I use foam I am worried the foam will get behind the cavity and make my plaster bow wren it expands if I use too much. Any ideas how I could stop this as your way looks way quicker. Is the PVA to help the foam bond. THANKS sorry for all the questions 👍

If you tried cutting a 'power socket' like how you did with the speakers wires.....i am sure you know this.....but some viewers are easily misled....I suggest for clarity you differentiate with the video title.....otherwise you could encourage a serious electrical accident.

Will this work on a ceiling? My previous tenant has left an old TV aerial socket on the roof! How quickly does the foam harden, or is it pointless to spray upward as it'll drip too quickly?

Electrical cables should have oval conduit or channelling over the top of them, pva the wall and put bonding plaster over the chases, leave it slightly below the surface of the wall so there is somewhere for the final layer of multi finish/ filler to sit!!

Looking for advice on what to do with lining paper on an external corner over a round wooden batten on corner on a stairway. The lining paper has shrunk and torn due to movement. Should I strip and reline or can I sand and fill. Couldn't find anything in your videos or in any forum.
@markrowland53935 жыл бұрын
If it's just one piece of lining paper, I would be inclined to strip it, fill the crack with wood filler and put a fresh piece of lining paper on (if it needs it) and then paint. But I'm not an expert, just a DIYer with a fair amount of experience.
@PaintingandDecorating5 жыл бұрын
The good thing about lining paper is it can be repaired easily. Sand round the edges lightly then use some B.I.N. primer to seal paper. Ready to fill then light sand then paint and see if it needs hardstop filler before second coat.
@scaffyman4065 жыл бұрын
@@PaintingandDecorating There is quite a cavity below the paper all the way up the wall about 2 metres. Its a Victorian/ Edwardian house with lathe and plaster wall with a wood corner bead. Its the type that are sometimes exposed as bare wood and not papered over OR sometimes the paper is 'forced' into the grooves with a papering brush so you can 'see' the shape of the bead beneath the paper.
