Very helpful video. Working on a Porsche Boxster with the same ISO connector as the VW featured in your vid and this really helped me know how to manage the removal. Thank you!

Thanks for this video, I found it quite useful. I am a Saab guy and own 3 now, but I just purchased a 9-5 this past week. The evap purge valve is the same for certain Audi/VW and Saabs, so someone took and spliced the connector from a VW onto my Saab wiring harness... grr. Anyways, I ordered a new Saab correct purge valve and the connector to go with it only to realize the connector didn't come with the terminals. Using this video I was able to remove the VW connector and insert the terminals into the correct OEM style plug, so I appreciate the help.

Really helpful. I was a bit confused about the "T" clip.. but put it in the light and saw the T. You have to press the T down to release the wire.. I found it helpful to do it with a thick needle and instead of the needle nose I used tweezers. Good luck and thank you for the post

PLEASE NOTE! Jef was kind enough to make a new video showing how to make these tools and he put a link in the description. Possibly over to the right of your computer screen above the other suggested videos. I nearly missed it. Or see below. Hope it helps. Thanks Jef! Cheers kzbin.info/www/bejne/mJO6aoyZaJuFhqc

Yeah it seems you could take the round terminal tool, file the ends a little skinnier, and bend the ends inward to match his. … unless you need a longer pin, but I don’t

I'd love to see details of how to make a couple of tools. Could you tell me what tool you started with to make these? Or I'd be happy to buy one if you are making them again. - Thanks

Hello, Jeff. I am trying to remove a terminal (#3 or #85) in my TCM wiring harness. Which tool should I use? And, do you have a video or tip to fix the one wire corroded from flooding? Thank you. Also, thank you very much for adding this and your tool making videos. I have found them to be extremely helpful in fixing my Allroad.

Great video, very well done. Too bad you're not making the tools any longer, but still.. the vid was very helpful. I'm trying to fix/recoat headlight wiring harnesses leading to the headlights on a Touareg and was actually looking for "one step up" in the process - how to release the dang header from the headlight mount so I can get to the thing :). Wish I could find a video for that which was as well-made as this one!

Very informative. Didnt watch till the end but i always suggest making a note of the wire position/orientation. Take a photo with your mobile if you have to. And i totally agree with you on the tools like the green one you showed - absolute waste of time. Thanks.

I ran a crimp center 36 for a while i terminated wiers set up applicators and the machine and help build harnesses. So buy a crimp Center 36. And make your own harness.

What else can i use instead of a tool. I am doing a trunk harness replacement and happens to be different connectors for vwcc 2013. I want to swap the connectors. To be able to connect it.

Sir, can I have information on where to buy the tools? Thanks.

I no longer make these. But I'm planning on putting together a video showing in detail how I did it. If you want terminals, I'd suggest just hitting up a junk yard and cutting out wiring harnesses. Tyco/Amp makes the terminals used in VW/Audi, but I never stumbled across a good affordable source of them.
