Great watch indeed, I got the olive 1st gen twice! Tried to take off the shroud and 2 screws were steady but easy...the third hollowed out during unscrewing (using the right size tool)... so that is never coming off... The other I wanted to keep as new... it is the only watch I ever bought twice or new for keeping it new... A lot of other watches in the collection have sacrificed time to this street solar, I love it on a green nato... will go to a watchmaker to get that screw out and get me a spare.

Just watched it. Tried to remove the shroud on my SRPA83J. But they are so tight that I'm way too afraid to use more force. I read that the metal is too soft and could damage the case.
@Ericdagreat4 жыл бұрын
If you put the shroud back on, put a dab of rubber cement on the screw to prevent the screw from backing out. Rubber cement dries grippy, put does not harden like thread lock, so it will hold the screw nicely without backing out, but easy to screw out
@myhandlewastakenandIgaveup4 жыл бұрын
does removing the shroud effec the water resistance? I shined a flashlight into the holes on mine and the holes extend into both cases but look sealed. This is my favorite way to wear this watch.

@PeterKotsa4 жыл бұрын
It should be fine, i ut a nato on it and because the underside of the watch is relatively tucked in 9in other words the lugs extend downward) it sits fine with the nato. Again every wrist is different, just give it try, nothing to loose. cheers

@PeterKotsa4 жыл бұрын
Hi Mustafa, it really comes down to your 'eye' . In other words what do you visually bond with more. No one can make that decision for you, because you are going to live with the watch. Ideally bot watches are the same spec's wise, what do you think you would enjoy wearing more often in differing situations? For me I prefer the 543 as it has a more flexible colour palette with my clothes and lifestyle cheers

Nope. Wrong!! That's a "Torx" size. The only reason it's working for you is sheer brute force! There's a potential of stripping the head. Seiko shroud screws are "Allen" sizes. I'm not sure (Tiny!) of the size but, I believe it is 1.5mm.
