For those who see this using a magic pad on car paint is actually sanding it. Do not use this method unless your paint is already shot and you dont care what it looks like afterwards. It will leave nasty dull sanding marks on car paint and even remove layers of it. You will have to wet sand and polish it afterwards

Compound and polish might be able to remove the damage caused by the magic eraser.

Exactly right the magic eraser will take damn near anything off anything but it indeed does sand. I used it on finish trim in a home took paint off so can't be good for a car by no means.

You are correct. I remember years ago I ran over a tire and I freaked out. My buddy eased my mind by telling me it's just rubber. I used a very mild polish and it worked like a charm. I might try goo gone next time. We shall see..

Use acetone for the paint transfer. Quick wipe from a towel with acetone will take it right off. Done it many times
