Wow, Nav! I love how you grasped the concept of the song after only hearing the first couple of lines. You are very intelligent and empathetic, and your students are so lucky to have you as their teacher.

It took me many years to look into the mirror and loudly remind myself that I DO NOT HAVE TO BE PERFECT NOR DOES ANYONE ELSE!!! Ren, really hits the old nail on the head. It is not just the media anymore, we the people now push this same BS on the rest of us!

Great, first reaction of the night and I’m crying 😢 that was beautiful. I love and hate this song equally because like you I get angry at how society/media etc try to condition people to look and there are millions of boys/girls/men/women and anybody in between/neither that feel this way. I hate the way I look. I had 6 kids relatively young, went through heroin addiction and abused other drugs and binge drank for years, I used to self harm, I have anxiety and went through years of depression. I’m now 41 and for the most part I just make myself get on with it and try not to think about it but deep down I hate how I look. But in regards to others I always try to teach my kids that it doesn’t matter what someone looks like/how they dress/what gender they are/or whatever else the important thing is how they treat you and others around you. I don’t care what people look like and I always try to bring people up when I see things like “I’m not summer body ready” - it’s summer, you have a body, you are summer body ready. But again like you, I can’t take that advice myself. Anyway I’m waffling and probably not making sense anyway so il leave it at that. Thanks for. Great reaction and I’m now gonna crack on with more 🖤🖤

Love it! This is why you’re always the first reactor I go to. Not many can pick up the subtext of REN’s lyrics so quickly and with such depth AND leave it on such a positive inclusive message even (or especially) when the topics are so hard hitting. Keep doing what you’re doing!

Also that adolescents are the most vulnerable due to development and hormonal changes Media takes advantage of that vulnerability. Horrible side effect of the Money Game. Ren rocks. Great reaction.

This is one of those tracks that is less about hidden meaniings and personal interpretation and more about Ren just speaking his truth. I love this side of Ren. Lack of empathy hurts people on both sides of the equation and feeds into a growing issue of depression as it robs us of those connections that deep down we need. Even while we attach ourselves to all the wrong goals and values we feel that disconnect in ourselves and it drags us down. Hopefully this song will help some people to see the fakeness in what we are being sold and to reconnect to each other.
@shadowaeternum2690 Жыл бұрын
I definitely agree with you. The song is meant to speak to the soul and it does that in spades. I think this kind of music is a necessity in the world to combat exactly what Ren is talking about in this track. A masterpiece in a time where it is truly needed. Much love, Phil

I know you sort of said it in the video, but I'm going to tell you anyway. Cause you are beautiful! I don't know you, but by listening to the way you speak about anything, I know you are a good person. Like you said beauty comes from the inside. And that is a known fact we are all born with, we all know it deep, deep inside. It just gets overshadowed by the capitalism, and that goes for other self-feelings as well. Like insecurities, any negative feeling feeds the market, as it tricks us into believing that buying stuff will make us feel better.... And another thing I believe that when we judge others, it is often based on what we don't like about ourself, which again comes from the capitalism, social media etc... I'm getting sidetrecked here... Anyway thank for your reaction! The way you interpreted the lyrics boosted my own self-image and self-confidence and thus also my self-respect, I needed that, thank you! Love from Norway!

Ren is a beaut and so are you, my favourite reactor by a million miles. I think on your last reaction video i commented that the reaction community is in danger of over saturation and consumption of Ren but my stance has changed, I think that you may as well be a part of the journey, pretty sure that all of your subscribers wait with baited breath for your reactions, you may not have tens of thousands of us but those of us here in this community sure as hell appreciate your interpretations of songs far more than on those more popular channels. I can feel that you are genuinely emotionally involved in your reactions and I/we wouldn't want it/you any other way. Incredible song and topic once again. On a side note, what reason could you think of that Ren hasn't gained momentum here in the UK, North America seems to have taken him to their hearts but very much a slow burner here🤔

Really???!! Is there more resistance there to expressing feelings and talking about mental health issues?

Thank you Peter :) Having the support of people like yourself is unmatched. I wouldn't give this community up for a million subs because you're all a part of this journey. In regards to the UK, I think you guys hit the nail on the head. I'm not super super familiar with the psychosphere of the UK, but I would imagine from what I've seen mental health, therapy, all of those kinds of topics including emotionality doesn't seem to be as much on the forefront. I also wonder if to some extent it's an algorithm based problem where he isn't being recommended as much for whatever reason. I think over time he'll bubble to the surface, but I'm glad it's already started here in NA. Much love

I’ve been desperate for you to do this one. It’s sooo good. Completely changed how I think just a shame it’s 40 yrs too late. I wish all kids could hear or see this but they probably won’t fully get it at that age. It’s so powerful. Apart from the wrong spelling of Dominoes glaring at my ocd this was a great reaction. I’ve a friend who was just like the girl in this story. She’s so weak now from years of anorexia just a slight fall and her hip snaps. She’s just spent 40 grand getting her teeth “perfect” with implants it’s insane but she feels she’s ugly and not able to smile as her teeth were not “perfect” so so sad and she really is beautiful inside and out but her mind is trained and tells her the opposite and likely she will never feel beautiful ever again 😢

Oh no.... I checked the thumbnail, checked the title of the video and was like surely, SURELY, I didn't do it in the video itself... And now I sit here staring at it in saddened disbelief. Haha. Sorry about that :P It's absolutely terrible how our minds have been warped to perceive ourselves. It breaks my heart when people get surgery, go on insane diets, starve themselves, etc. Don't get me wrong, if you're trying to change your health for the better or change your appearance for yourself in a healthy way, then I'm all for it, but many people do it because they feel like they need to, which they shouldn't. I hope that your friend is okay. Tell her that myself (and I'm sure others in the community) think that she's beautiful. Much love Fire

I think your beautiful! I’m learning how to gauge someone’s beauty on their soul. It’s quite disorienting at first because it’s something that changed in me quite unintentionally and unexpectedly. But it has allowed me to adopt a unity consciousness. It allows me to feel a connection to people that I never would have allowed myself to feel a connection to because of the biases of physicality and has also allowed me to protect myself from people who had hidden intentions to harm or impose upon me. I believe this forgotten instinct is appropriate as we move into the future as it is the a necessary tool for us as the energy in this planet shifts and our consciousness evolves.

I'm not entirely sure, but I think the sound at the start is typing, like a blog entry being written. The story he tells and even the voice of the narrator sound like someone very much faced by those insurmountable pressures of being a "domino" in this system. Getting those thoughts straight.

You said, "... It ruins our perception of other people..." I think this is a deeply soul damaging aspect of beauty culture that is rarely mentioned. Even our ideas about "cures" for insecurities are narcissistic, telling us to learn to feel better About Oneself, ignoring how we are trained to feel about others.
