Absolutely. The Nas retake is brilliant and really does pay homage to one of the greats

Facts! There's so much detail to it. The length is half the time of the original. He makes a point of talking about Pi as in 3.14 and released it on March 14th. There's a part where he crosses his arms at the exact time the crossing time hits 0 after walking over the road. His attention to detail is scary

The "sample" is just Ren singing with added digital effect. This is definitely one of his best rap songs.
@banzy310 ай бұрын
I've heard the sample used in other videos before, I know he makes his own beats, but I believe he borrowed this particular snippet.

@@garbeal2397 there are a few on Sick Boi that aren't his and some older ones as well. He only calls songs a retake if he's putting his own twist on someone else's songs. There are many people out there making beats for others to use and Ren has used some.

His Nas Halftime Retake, Murderer, and Illest of Our Time are more along the lines of hip hop I think you’d appreciate. He has mad bars in Seven Sins but It’s more of a piece of art, than it is traditional hip hop. Still fire.

If you ever watch Ren BTS videos, he creates beats, plays his own instruments, writes lyrics etc. but he is fully involved in the filming and does the production. I would suggest he is one of the most accomplished artists today because he is literally doing everything from inception to post... it's unbelievable when you think of how many people most artist have helping... Ren must be exhausted.

Just FYI, a few things: 1) he actually can’t eat that food because of his health issues… so technically not wasting it 2) that ‘sample’ is also him, just sped up & super compressed 3) if he uses someone else’s beats, he references the original in the title & it’s always an homage

@ Yep- this is classic no frills (or less frills) hip hop! Animal Flow is primal, tribal wicked beat. Kind of a love it or hate it- BUT it does stay basically in one bag. So if you dig it, you can dig it all the way through. Same with Hold On & Ocean. *Murderer you know and grooved to already, but the live brings more reggae & soul vibe & drops a sneaky Dre beat in the middle
