Us Renegades will welcome you with open arms, things to be aware of: the Ren rabbit whole is deep and you will lose yourself in it, this viedo is entirely live, and shot in one shot, no cutting, a lot of his videos are like this, also a completely independent artist, no record companies involved. If you want to continue on with Ren, i'd advise the Hunger or Animal Flow for his great rapping, "The Tales" trilogy for his story-telling, or Money Game parts 1, 2, and 3 for his magnum opus.

Ren's backstory he had lyme's disease but it was completely misdiagnosed, so not only did the disease wreek havoc, but also the treatments for the misdiagnosis. He sings about it in SickBoy. The Tale of Jenny and Screech (complete trilogy) is difficult to listen to, but is masterful in storytelling. He was also had a band, The Big Push, which is alot more fun, especially busking on the streets of Brighton. Like "The Big Push - I Shot the Sheriff/Road to Zion/Hip Hop" is just him, and his bandmates on street corner absolutely killing it.

Ren is a genius, a rare talent. He has survived a horrific illness and is only now getting appropriate treatment. He plays many instruments, writes poetry, songs, scenarios etc. Follow his career with his great busking band, The Big Push; his amazing collabs with Chinchilla etc; his incredible story telling in The Tale of Jenny and Screech (and Violet), Money Game trilogy etc. Go to his KZbin channel and listen to his stories etc. He has made people's lives better His range is seemingly endless.

Harry Mac did a freestyle for Ren. Ren and his videographer start over if there's a mistake, I've heard it was four takes to finish. Ren says they got kicked out of the space afterwards so they were stuck with what the had anyway.

Ren was mis-diagnosed and had Lime Disease for years from getting bitten by a tic. He got the wrong treatment and had all these issues because of it. This went on for around 10 years before they found out the correct problem. That is how he got the psychosis and other issues.

Dude, you’ve just started a massive journey. All REN’s stuff is varied and excellent. The thing to remember about this is that he wrote it, he played it, remembered all the lyrics, acted as the characters, and most impressively, it’s one take. Most of his are. He does multiple live takes and pick the best. He has a lav mic on. Just go check out his catalog. It’s all great. Some is stories like this (Jenny and Screech Trilogy). Others are more rap based. I don’t care for rap, but all his stuff is good. He’s extremely talented.

Oh, wow! Awesome format for review by going through the lyrics as you did. With Ren, you definitely need lyrics. Either people find his accent difficult to understand (he does not pronounce letter T often) or he sings so darn fast or you are caught thinking about what he said and miss much. I am so excited for you guys, Finding Ren. I am closer to 70 than 17 and never listened to Rap before. Then I stumbled across Ren a little over a year ago. The guy can Rap sing act play multiple instruments tell a story and I am pretty sure though I have never seen it, he could do it all while riding on the back of a dancing circus horse if he wanted. Ren is a true artiste. He will make you laugh cry and most of all he will make you think and he will make you feel. There are others more qualified than I to tell you his story. I will just say enjoy the journey guys you are in for quite a ride.

Loved your reaction and that you went over the lyrics in more detail at the end. Funny that you mention Harry Mack. Harry did a freestyle for Ren and blew Ren away! It was all thanks to an artist by the name of Rikashae who brought Ren to Harry Macks attention. It's called, "Reacting to the Harry Mack freestyle" on Ren's second channel called "Ren makes stuff". It's only about 3 and a half minutes long. You may want to get to know more about Ren first so you know what Harry is referring to.

RENagade here - as a 60+ year old, the closest musical talent comparison to REN I can make is Prince. The feelings I get from REN was the same when I heard Purple Rain. He has more talent in his little finger than any artist I can think of, and I've been on this earth a long time. I've been subscribed to you guys for close to 8 years now. With Star Wars being the main reason of course. I value and respect your opinion on a plethora of subjects, etc. But can I just say, I absolutely LOVED watching you guys reacting to music. Was not expecting this reaction at all. I love Ren. This video of Ren in particular blew me away and still resonates with me till this day. It was so nice to see you guys reacting to this. Please do more reactions of Ren. I think you guys did a great job with this. I admit I was quite nervous that you just wouldn't be able to relate. You seem more analytical than artistic, more reasoned than emotional, more categorical than metaphorical, in your general work on KZbin. But I was wrong about you and about how well they lyrics would punch through. For those of us more artistic types the struggle in this song is just heartwrenching and all-too-familiar. I really thought you guys did a good job with this and I'm impressed that you actually liked it. This is intense, and not really for everyone, but you do have open minds and did a good job of taking it in. Thanks.
