I hope that this song was cathartic for Ren. It was beautiful, tragic, emotional. I know it's going to help many people.

Ren is a gift to us from the Universe when optimism is rare. I don't say that lightly. Sometimes light comes from unexpected places.

Ren was talking about cutting himself in irder to feel alive even thoughhe was full if extreme pain from tbe illness. Cutting was a means of control. He said just once. Ren's spirituality flyctuates. He is wearing his cross again. I think he has accepted his mission to be the vouce for the chronically ill. Lyme is gone but he has MCAS and POTS and other autoimmune conditions. He also has brain damage and organ damage. He will probably have to deal with for life. He still has constant pain which originates in his brain. But he is better. He will be living in the US to stay closer to his Canadian doctors. Also, at the time the stem cell doctor found him, Ren was blogging about his health journey. And he blogged about the whole stem cell treatment experience back then.

Your adjectives to describe his use of words, "robust...fulsome...alive", are so precise. If his sickness had taken him, or his mind hadn't returned, or he was lost by his own hand, the world would have been deprived of his unique creativity and brilliance. He's a living, breathing miracle who has been in God's arms for a long time.

I don’t at all assume to know the depth of the pain Ren experienced, but I can say I truly emphasize with everything he expresses… he is by no means cured, but he has improved his health tremendously from where he was…Ren is , was and will always be different than most… but he honestly helps those who need to feel seen, heard and understood… I have tears as I watch each time thinking of him languishing and suffering… we are blessed by Ren similar to one of the wonders of the world he is a wonder in and unto himself… how anybody could have anything but admiration for Ren is beyond me… I haven’t been on much myself these days but always thank you for Paul your thoughtful reaction and 🙏🏻🫶🏻🙏🏻

I think, Ren has to live with his illness for the rest of his life. He just needs to “dance” with it. Although, I hope one day he will be pain free. The success he works for will pay for his treatments. We love Ren so much and I will hold his music for life. I’m glad he found Forgiveness. You reaction was beautiful.

It’s not easy to not blame yourself. When my arm got injured and chronic pain hit 15 years ago followed by more pain in operation sites, my life changed drastically. My 4 kids suffered as did my husband and I have no control over it. Only pain management. Ren and this song hits me in the heart. Thank for your reaction and prayer Paul 🙏🏻🙏🏻

Having said the uplift I got from Troubles, I LOL'd at "Hollywood spat me out" and the cynical probability that such a strong message for the light will be misunderstood/represented again, like CNN's scream piece on Suicide. SMDH

There are many suffering at present, where the medicos are either stumped or corrupted. Long covid is an injury that is not being cured, no research, no options, no life! Thanks for your reaction to this summation of Ch1-7. Ch8 is the success, the collaborations and the music, the hope being fulfilled.

He is such a bright light in the darkness for many. Thank you for helping him shine, and making sure that as many people as possible take the time to learn about how he got here. That understanding and compassion may be what we need to change things for the better. I love that he told his story here in a very honest way but made it radio friendly so that it can reach as many people as possible. All Ren's old health vlogs from the times before his treatment are still on Facebook, as a page called Lyme 101 (though the url still has mevsme in it because that is what the page used to be called).

Lost my brother when I was 11, in Hue Vietnam during the Tet Offensive. So sorry any of you had to go through that. He enlisted even though he had a college deferral. He was a medic. Hope you’ve had a change of mind about student protests. Again, thank you for your service.

You are an absolute stand up guy. Most reactors do just that, react, and don't link to the stuff they are reacting to. Regarding Ren, he's by far my favourite artist of the last few years, I think he has something for everyone.

I'm sure you know, but just in case you don't...I believe Ren had some kind of concerning medical event in the last few days and was in some kind of hospital for a few days, though I believe he's being cared for at home now. I don't know much beyond that...please say a prayer or two for Ren's recovery.

I don’t think Ren is fully reconciled with “God”. That’s not the way I hear it. He says “Lord I forgive you. Make me whole.” Then he proceeds to give “God” the pain and everything he’s been through. I interpret that as…Lord, I’ll forgive you if you’ll just make me whole. In the meantime, why don’t you carry and feel everything I’ve been through. Ren was the same kind person before he got sick. His little sister (Leah) is so similar to him in personality and character. However, his illness has exaggerated all of his amazing qualities. It angers me when people say he’s come out the other side. He will never be “whole”. His illness has caused permanent damage. He’s stated he will never be pain free. He still can’t eat worth crap. Due to his MCAS. He’s moving to LA to live closer to his doctor. I don’t understand why the people that love and respect him don’t listen to what he tells us through his interviews. I realize the joy we get out of interpreting his songs. I just wish people would listen to what he says in interviews. He doesn’t leave things up for interpretation. He’s our beloved Ren. He’s always been an open book with us. He’s always dropping hints and clues for things that aren’t serious. Otherwise, he just flat out tells us what’s going on. There are so many difficulties dealing with his type of damage. I know, I have it. The meds are so tricky. What helps one organ function hurts others. This med will help your kidneys function, but it’s gonna damage your liver and make your heart wonky. Pain killers aren’t good, but pop a diazepam to help keep you calmer as you deal with extreme pain. Just not everyday, only rarely to make the bad days survivable. Oh, we think your heart stopped. That’s why you have an ankle broken in 3 places. Your body just dropped suddenly, and you didn’t land well. I could go on, but I’ll spare you. I guess what I’m saying is let Ren be who he tells us he is. I trust him. Furthermore, I beg you to let him keep parts of himself to himself. Rewatch “Chapters 1” and listen to him. He literally told us the more he gives to us, the less he has for himself. Please, quit disecting him. People like me count on his little snippets on Instagram to get through the day. I hate it when he goes quiet, but I don’t blame him. Ren has to put himself first. 🥹❤️🔥✌️
