I love the bandoliers. If you don't need a full 6 mags you can put 2 mags in one pocket, a small IFAK in another and random stuff like mini binos, flashlight, map and compass etc. for a really small light weight day pack type carrier.

I’m excited to deploy a Molle II Large Ruck as a game pack. The medium Alice and the Gen One pack you’re using just don’t have enough depth to stick a full deer / pronghorn quarter in. It is in the dreaded UCP pattern, but I’m hunting sage / pinion pine country, so it’s okay for my area. The Sustainment pouch will also attach to the sides of the Alice Pack using the side Alice Webbing that are on that pack. If anyone cares the Molle II grenade pouches have the capacity for precisely two cans of Copenhagen. Also, the waist pack will hold a ranger roll. I used to believe it held precisely one poncho liner, but I saw another KZbin video where it was demonstrated that a ranger roll fits.

Faithful #5 here. I too was brought up with Alice. The Molle stuff is nice though. The canteen, waist pack, and sustainment pouches are great add ons to increase capacity.

I have a couple of these packs with all of the components. Unfortunately I too had gotten out before these came into service and relied on word of mouth and various yt videos that didn't quite explain the ins and outs of the assembly. I can't wait to see what you do in the 2nd part. Also, I'm a big fan of the woodland pattern camo. I didn't notice if you had any of the gp or "medic" pouches that have a zipper closer that are just about the size of a canteen cover. I've found them to be a great catch-all pouch for small Items or specific equipment. From one bag addicted, 2nd hand store frequenter to another, keep up the great vids!

i have one pouch like you describe on the tailgate there. it just says general purpose. i doubt i will find many more. woodland is getting scarse. the green berets buy it all up.

Im wondering if that ALICE webbing is for the 2 quart canteens? They were still ALICE compatible well into the late 90s.

You can use 2 quart canteens with the hydration bladder in the pack. My nephew puts a lc2 buttpack with his extra clothing there.

You wouldnt want 4 quarts(~ 8.3pounds) of water that far from your back you can really feel it pulling you back and plus if you popped the quick release all the weight from the ruck slams on the canteens and could puncture them if they landed on a rock. A much better option is on top of the ruck or on the sides keeping the load closer together

@@frankalvarez7387 I have never had good luck with the US issue 2quart canteens so long ago I Cross trained with Asuuies SBS and the Royal Marine SBS they all carried 2 quart square hard plastic canteens I bought 10 of them on the post and still use them to this day. You could put the canteens on the Alice webbing but why? Like you said it throws you wat off balance. My nephew puts his camelbak in side and a buttpack of clothing on the bottom strip of Alice. I still use the large green tick. The 2 quart hard plastic canteens go on the side up top in sustainment pouch's. Fun fact lots of guys in my old unit used the 2 quart canteen (US issued) in the center pocket of the large tick and never had an issue with them breaking and that's even with Jumps and shoving them out of UH1 D's on water insertions. So its kind of hit or miss personal preferences.

I have the ACU camo molle rucksack system and the woodland camo but my woodland rucksack is the one solid piece rucksack. U have the pack that has two separate bags making two compartments a top and bottom bag. Mine is the all one piece large rucksack. I bought a multicam one like urs but I just prefer the style of all.one big bag. I'm probably gonna sell woodland I don't use it. I like the ACU camo version. But great video. Lotsa nice stuff! Enjoy ur bag!! That bottom bag is too sloppy it doesn't tighten down and it doesn't close well.

Great video. This year will be my first time hunting, its something that I have wanted to do for a very long time. Thing is, I don't have tons of cash to drop on a lot of new gear. What I DO have is lots of surplus gear from my time in and plan to use it. Its good to know that there are other, more experienced hunters out there that are doing the same.

Gonna use some green dyed acu molle 2 ruck and accesorries for my deer pack. Been wondering if i can dye some tan molle to a safety orange for a vest. Great packs though

Those sustanment pouches can hold up to 3-4 MRES.

I’m curious why it is so many people think if your bugging out or just trying to get home in a poop gone awry situation your automatically going to be running through the woods. Good kit. I’ve forgotten so much about this stuff.

Thanks for the video. Turns out I'm getting this MOLLE 2 system for Christmas, I can't wait to open it on Christmas day and start playing with it. Unfortunately, It is in the tri-color desert colors. It's gonna look like a giant snowball sitting in the woods, LOL. Gonna have to paint or dye it or something. Thanks again.

what a cool christmas present! it will dye fairly well. and once dyed the desert tricolor is kinda cool. ive got a couple videos on dying this stuff. and there are much better ones than mine out there. DON'T BE TEMPTED TO PAINT IT. i know some folks do but it gets too stiff. check out a brand called idye.

@@renaissancemarinetv3536 Thanks for the input. You're right about painting, That's usually my first go-to. A couple cans of spray paint has always done me well, aside from the stiffness. I've never used the dye, look forward to giving it a shot. Thanks again.

@@LFTDoffroad I’ve sprayed some, but dyeing is a much better solution. Not sure where you are as far as color schemes, but a combination of sandstone and apple green dye worked great for me with my DCU patter stuff. Straight green was way to bright. But I toned it down with a light dusting of khaki krylon.

The desert molle II rucks are harder to find than the woodland.......leave it how it is and get a woodland one.

that should be fun. i would pack it just like the alice. weight toward your back. its a big main package. if you can compress it down there is ample strappage for that. shape it to be thinnner. does that make sense?

I heard a pretty good trick is if you run your mss carrier straps thru the botrom of your main ruck sack looops instead.of on the frame it holds together very nicely as well Thanks for the video and God Bless Jesus is The Way ,,,,,
