@RenaissancePeriodization Dr Mike; are concerns about mercury poisoning from tunafish and other fish bogus? I've been eating a can of tunafish probably about once a or twice a day for the past three years while I've been training because of how lean and high in protein it is, it's easy to prepare, plus I happen to really like the taste. Do you think you could ever do a video addressing the claim that tuna and other fish are "unhealthy" because of high mercury content?

Someone said it on another video with Mitchell Hooper and The Knees Over Toes Guy, but we really are in a golden age of informative fitness. You two have done a lot to help me stay motivated and positively unsurprised by the effects I've seen through recently getting back into 'very active' training. Not giving you guys credit for my 40 pounds of fat loss and ~20 pounds of muscle gained in the last 5 months, but definitely glad I had both of you to confirm that was even possible and I didn't just hallucinate numbers on my scale and the intensity of my machines. Thank you guys, great video.

20lbs of muscle in 5 months? Anabolic spaghetti?
@krystoferbelknap806
@krystoferbelknap806 Жыл бұрын
@@R03333 Probably regaining mass from having been 3 years strong in the Navy a few years prior (with pockets of retraining since then). Plus, I'm 6'2, 290lbs with a 2500 calorie diet (~1200 deficit, with a cheat day every week at about 3000). I'm convinced I am very above average genetically in gaining mass (only slightly above average in strength growth). Throw in some extreme tenacity and care for not cheating myself out of ROM or progressive overloading... Twenty pounds isn't impossible in 5 months, with the first point I made being a significant variable in that.
@krystoferbelknap806
@krystoferbelknap806 Жыл бұрын
The downside is that I didn't see any weight loss on the scale until recently, since my body recomp has peaked and shifted much more into a cutting-recomp. I'm losing around 4lbs a week and probably gaining drastically less muscle mass as I've surpassed my prime strength by about 50% all around. With most exercises now, I'd be lucky to gain a 2% increase in strength a week. Even sadder truth is that I'd be happy just to hold that mass while shaving off another 40 pounds within the next 5-6 months.

Great video. Love the smith machine skull crushers since I saw it on a previous video. Modified it a bit and use and angled bench and come down behind the head. Great connection and feels better on my wrists and elbows. Its definitely my favorite tricep exercise.

I am thoroughly convinced that Jeff is the perfect example of what is attainable naturally. The fact that he can stand next to Mike and still look yolked without even being enhanced is insane.
