Creatine helps directly via increasing endurance and decreasing rest time between sets, but no connection to testosterone levels. It is another matter that if one loses fat as a consequence of diet/exercise, T levels may rise due to lower sequestration in adipose tissue.

Supplements alone are not enough for increasing T and keeping it high. You need a holistic approach. A lot of men today have suboptimal levels of testosterone; a lot less than their fathers or grandfathers had just 30-50 years ago. There are various reasons for this. One factor that is oftentimes neglected is endocrine disruptors in our environment (i.e., xenoestrogens, BPA, phthalates, triclosan, etc.), phytoestrogens in food (i.e., soy, which is present in almost all processed foods), and hypothyroidism (subclinical or autoimmune Hashimoto's disease). To increase testosterone levels naturally, including libido and erection quality, and reduce chronic inflammation: • Get enough daily sunlight. • Vitamin D3 (especially during the winter or if you live in a northern climate). • Zinc picolinate (20-40 mg per day). • Magnesium glycinate/citrate. • Resistance training (3-5 times per week for 45-90 minutes max). • Adequate neuromuscular recovery (e.g., don't overtrain). • Adequate (quality) sleep. • More healthy fats (monounsaturated and saturated fats from sources like grass-fed red meat, pasture-raised eggs, fatty fish, organic full-fat dairy, coconut fat, avocados, cocoa butter, certain nuts and seeds, etc.). • Increase dietary cholesterol intake through nutrient-dense, whole foods. Cholesterol is the building block of all steroid hormones, including androgens such as testosterone. • Manage stress. Do what you have to do to keep it under control (i.e., meditation, yoga, nature walks, relaxing music, massage/reflexology sessions, adaptogenic herbs, etc.). • Chronically elevated cortisol levels disrupt the HPT (hypothalamus-pituitary-testicles) axis and deplete your body of the very resources it needs to produce androgens like testosterone and DHT. • Eat enough quality calories (not all calories are the same!). • Avoid large or prolonged calorie deficits. • Eat adequate amounts of each macronutrient (protein, carbs, fats). All of them are important in their own way and serve specific physiological functions. Beneficial Supplements: • Shilajit • Ashwagandha • Maca • Taurine • L-Carnitine (increases androgen receptor density) • Creatine • Tongkat Ali • Fadogia Agrestis • Black Ginger • Pine pollen (contains natural androgens) • Boron (increases free testosterone) • DIM (natural anti-estrogen) "The Testosterone Advantage" by Timotheus Ray is a nice read on male health and hormone optimization.

I am 59 and natural tested consistetly at 800-900 ngdl total T. Bench 300lbs and squat 375lbs routinely. I have been high intensity strength training consistently for 26 years. With these very nuanced topics often the problem is that we are asking the wrong question. Creatine definitely improve strength, mass and conditioning because it increase muscle cell volume and promotes higher intensity training capacity. If you are not training at higher intensity its mostly a waste of money. The T incresee is coming from the metabolic effects of high intensity workouts and higher muscle mass which is promoted by creatine. So the effects are indirect and very powerful. no supplement will directly increase testosterone especially in sedentary individuals or endurance athletes who generally have depressed T, HGh immunity etc.

I have always had an empirical testing approach and have made changes over 25 year training and results documenting the data. Creatine is not a placebo but makes a huge difference the earlier you are in the development cycle once you are past the beginner stage. However, there is significant catch it is not a shortcut and works best only when nutrition, training etc are perfectly dialled in. It won’t have much effect either are inconsistent or poor quality. Taking creatine then doing only isolation exercises or using machines and expecting to gain strength and muscle won’t fly…

@@wolfsden3812hi That’s kind of a medical question which I would not try to answer but at face value it shouldn’t have any connectivity. The question I would ask is why do you have high BP? It’s not a disease but most times a life style condition. Generally, high BF%, metabolic syndrome or insulin resistance , pre diabetic, low T and muscle mass and high BP tend to occur together. Hi BF is determined both by muscle mass as well as fat storage so you can have a hi % and be skinny too… all of these are reversible Don’t mean to over step here …😊

I would say that creatine may help boost T levels in an indirect way. If someone is restricting calories & uses the creatine to give the muscles energy to lift weights, the weight lifting would be what increases the T - just that the individual may not have had the energy stores to work their muscles as hard without the creatine.

Curious if giving to teenagers would be harmful due to the body trying to regulate during puberty and adding suplements might alter the normal process of the body to regulate the endocrine system. I'm speculating based on our bodies desire to reach homeostasis and will often adjust normal physiologic occurances if the body is reaciving outside influence. For instance if there is a rise in a particular level from supplements would the body then reduce it's naturally occuring secretion due to it sensing there is enough already present. Thereby screwing up the body during puberty and missing the setting of the natural clock of the endocrine system. Then when going off the supplement the body is not able to compensate due to puberty being over. I know lots of high school kids get on this and I hope it's not effecting them long term.

I don't believe creatine influences T levels either, but there are some BS studies in this overview. Even in high doses creatine takes time to accumulate in body, so those 1 week studies are useless. Studies in highly trained individuals are questionable, because they might get noticeable amounts of creatine just from food sources, and super high level of creatine consumption provides no benefits.
