Did you know that when trees fall, or are in distress, as long as the roots are still in the ground, all the other nearby trees will send nutrients and water to the tree that needs help, to help it live. Beautiful.

Instead of burning debris and manure can you put it over the edge. We had a farm by a river and that helped to prevent hill erosion enormously. All our barn & farm waste was tipped over. My sister now does this on the steep hill down to the river on her city lot and has no erosion at all. She also builds it up with rocks & cement blocks she gets free from marketplace. She creates walking paths on the hill for her dogs that would otherwise be unnavigable. Her lot is as steep as yours. She lives in a very rainy climate.

I would be saying goodbye to that property. It is beautiful but with all the erosion I would not be putting anymore money into it. You couldn't even bring in loads of clean fill to build it up. Such a shame. I really fell in love with that place. The longer time goes on it scares me if and when the pasture fences will be going down over the drop off.

I think you need to move that ridgeline fence about 20 feet back from the edge of the cliff (or more), considering what the weather prognosticator people have been saying about this summer/fall's weather. Lester, hun, you've done a great job with the animals and you've built some great structures. But, the major erosion is happening because of all the clearing you had done. I know you've let a lot of the undergrowth come back, but too little too late hun. I'm glad ya'll found a good solution for the pond!! It really is a beautiful pond. If you can get grass to grow in the little/middles main pastor, that will help minimize the erosion there. You will loose more trees because of root damage and erosion from having the areas cleared. Love hugs and prayers ❤️ ❤❤

LHL is too beautiful and enriched in too much history for me to ever sell the property. Sure, JL is nice too, but it reminds me too much of flat Florida, where I've lived all my life. Give this old gal a couple hills along a river, and I'd be happy as a pig in 💩. If I were renaming LHL, I'd call it something like "Whispering Pines Ranch" to embrace both the serenity, and spiritual sides of the ranch. Yall do what's best for you, and all the animals Lester. You're the ones living and working there. Hugs to you, and all those precious critters. 🥰
@Eph.6_10-2026 күн бұрын
The erosion is devastating Lester. You have such a beautiful property there but in honesty, I’d look to get rid of it sooner rather than later. The erosion will get worse to the point nobody will want to purchase it. Once the JL is sorted, I suggest moving the fence at the river side inwards a few feet so prospective buyers can see “the possibilities” of having a path surrounding the outside of the fence. Just my opinion of course but do you really want to let years of erosion happen before you think about selling? I think selling is a great idea. You’ve conquered the pond and spillway, you’ve sorted out the grass too, just move that fence once you’ve sorted out your future at the JL and go. It’s so sad to see this land perish but that’s what’s happening. Wishing you all the success in the world moving forward in whatever you and Jami decide to do. X ❤

I'd say it would be wise to seriously consider selling the LHL property. It looks terrific with all of the improvements you and Jami have made since you first bought it. I think it could be the perfect place for someone with a few animals, but its lack of pastures makes it less than ideal for your animals. The J & L property has so much potential and is much better suited for your needs.

The hidden spirits that it hides but still with all that mystical feeling I can understand the frustrations of having to do things, rebuilding, fixing the land over and over again gets tiresome and costly. The way the 3 mini donkeys ABC and whenever D does come over or if he does, they have improved so much and don't look as sickly as they were. Omg i think you better take that part of the fence and move it towards the yard 50 feet. Yes you are about to lose some trees off that ridge. Thats just to scarey. Your loosing feet not inches each year. I agree, i think id get JLRanch all fenced in the way you want and start consentrating on saving money and what you would like to do for a house. I absolutley love LHL but so much goes on that needs attended to each year. It seems more and more each year. The spill way is good the sod is doing good , but that erosion gets worse and worse every hard rainfall. The ABC's are looking so good and seem to be getting healthier. They are so cute , and also Dinky. It would be so cool to have all your animals on one property. It would be so much easier taking care of them.i hope it works out what you want one day. 🎉❤

The people you bought that place from warned you about the erosion. LHL is a beautiful place but , I think by the way you are talking you all will be moving to the J and L someday. I hope you can get a good price for the property, so much blood sweat and tears put into LHL. The animals there are thriving, the care you take to keep them all healthy is impeccable. But the animals at the other 2 places are thriving too. Each property has its pros and cons, a hard decision to make. LHL has good neighbors too. Miss Pat and Dave will sure miss the animals. Your animals bring them so much joy in their life. And I get so much joy watching all your and Jami’s videos. 😊

Before I would consider selling it, I would ask you latest and best pond fix guy if he has any great ideas to stop the hillside erosion. You could even consult with the state department engineers that work on erosion and land stabilization issues. You might even be able to get a grant to help you with the costs of the job. Especially if you can get it officially designated as a historical site. Present the state with your research. You might have to dig back up some of the things you found and re-buried for your presentation. Then you could keep it for Les and in the meantime use it as a getaway, and a refuge for all the Sanctuary and Morrow hill animals and family in times of flooding. All very good reasons to keep it if you can get help with the hill erosion. Wait and do the fence moving at the same time as the hill stabilization so you only have to do the fence once. Love you all so much ! ❤❤❤❤❤
