Great resto,Paul.Solido date stamp their car models,and plastic chassis started appearing mid '70s.Also,most of their 1/43rd cars are competition types,that not many companies of that era touched upon.Look forward to your next 'make-over'

Solido...bloody autocorrect changed my typing 3 times! We know what you mean though :) I know of solidonand polistil. But VERY rarely saw them in the UK when I was a child in the 80s. Even Hotwheels were rare. Matchbox superfast and superkings were the King of the diecast with Corgi following up.

Wonderful job. You are using silicon goop now for molding purposes in specific applications...interesting. The flame-hot staple insertions was an adventure! Plastic chassis are somewhat, annoyingly, limiting in other choices during restoration. Your prep and paint work were excellent. The box seemed a somewhat weirder template, also. But with your usual attention to detail and patient, skilled hands brought the Alpine back from lingering death. Well done, Maestro!!❤❤

Le modèle de base est bon, la couleur est trop foncé les stickers de capot sont affreux et la n°18 a remporté le monté carlo en1973 avec l'équipage Jc Andruet et Biche les pare chocs ne peuvent pas êtres chromé ils sont en fibre de verre peinture alu et les ailes sont plus grosses car il s'agit d'une groupe 4.... si non ça va.

first of all best wishes for the recovery of the right finger injury... I hope nothing serious... health first of all!! If I understand correctly, this is a commissioned restoration... Solido models are not toys like Dinky, Corgi, MB therefore they have screws and not "pressed seals". You tried to reproduce French Racing Blue, but it is much darker! ...you should mix the colors in daylight, not under a bulb that never reproduces correct and natural light...You try to imitate everything, often slavishly, but today you have forgotten the typically French yellow headlights of the time ! You could have painted the interior a bit which is of better quality than usual....Those studs for the wheels are horrible and there is little point in painting them with Molotow (which should be Natural Metal like the original light alloy and not Chrome 😵 ‍💫) and also you left half a centimeter of axle protruding. I hate cardboard boxes, these HQ models should be placed in transparent cases, but the ridiculous fact is that you also printed conformity marks and warnings that didn't exist in the seventies 😆 (I hope some manufacturer doesn't cite you for copyright infringememt to reproduce those boxes!!😆) The race number and Elf decals are visibly large, outspan, out of scale...we hope that the customer paid reasonably little for this restoration.. Montecarlo, not Monte Carlo
