As always, Paul, an utterly beautiful restoration. Now, as much as I like the work you do on the models, I think I like your boxes for them even more. I was a child in the 1960's, and had a great many of the models you restore. Seeing the boxes always gives me a real jolt of memory, as I can see them on the shelves of my local toyshop. Never seen this corgi model before; what year was it in production? They also dont look similar in any way? Which one actually resembles the real car? Another great restoration though! Be safe...

thank you very much. both models are from 1959 and were produced until 1965. it is true that despite the manufacturers' assurances that the scale is 1 to 43, the solido model is still larger than the Corgi. In fact, if you look closely, you can see similarities to the original model.

@@PaulRestorer ah, so a scale issue rather than accuracy. I would have been three in 1959, so a tad too young for the corgi. Only one very expensive store in my town sold solid cars, so I never got many of those, but they were always top quality....
