Renault Kangoo: How to Fix a Car Cigarette Lighter (Power Outlet) Not Working: Troubleshoot & Fix

Greetings lovely people, is your 12v Front accessories socket stopped working? Is there no more current going through it? well, in this case, I have a fix for you, this also might apply to other models, the issue is basically common across multiple car brands, check the video out.
My issue was a blown 10 amp low profile mini blade fuse that you can find on amazon reasonably cheap. Less than $15 for a giant 140-set combo. Paying for the 5 pieces is not worth the hassle as it's still $3-$5. I initially used 2 types of fuse puller and I could not get the fuse out, so I started looking for other solutions, eventually, I managed to get them out with the toothpick that I had in the bag with tools that I carry around, next time I will equip long nose piler to save even more trouble.
Make sure the vehicle is turned off and the keys are out of the ignition.
The interior fuse box is located underneath the steering wheel. I was able to remove it with my bare hands, and it will snap back on fairly easily.
After I removed the cover, I used my tools in the video, since It was a tight space, and getting the fuse out was the most difficult task. I had to readjust myself beside the car and prayed that the plier would grip well and the fuse would pop out. After a couple of tries, the fuse came out. I replaced it with the new 10-amp fuse. It was a lot easier to install using my hand, No need to use the fuse puller to push the new fuse back in.
Try turning on your car and see if the outlet is now working by plugging an adapter or GPS in. If it works, congratulations, you saved yourself $50-$100 easily! Yay, our first success in saving you money. If I can help people save money and learn something, then my video is working!
If you are not sure or having major troubles, please consult a professional. I wasn't a professional and I was able to replace my own fuse. Hopefully, you can save some money and do the same too.

Don't think to much and start fixing it, the solution is simple, you can do it yourself! I know i left mine unfixed for way to long thinking its a hardware fault or something complicated when in fact the solution was so simple.

Do you know how to fix so that the 12v outlet gets constant power without engine on?

12v outlets back in the day used to be hooked up to accessory, meaning that they would only have power when the key was turned to the accessory or run position. Nowadays they are hooked straight to power meaning they are known as being “hot at all times”. When you turn the key off, the power keeps flowing. It's normal. Thats why its recomended to not leave anything in the 12v outlets, however if you dont like the behaviour of that outlet it might be possibile to fix it with a simple fuse swap, you just need to locate the fuse for your 12v outlet, and see if you have the 3 pins line, a quick video on this matter is here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/eGOtiaCwYtN_hrc Also on some cars the modules are shut down 15-20 minutes after the car was locked so the 12v socket will drain the power only for 15-20 minutes after you locked the car, did you checked this scenario ?

This one is from 2010, and yes it has the lighter. But this days everybody has a lighter in their poket i am not realy using the one from the car.

@@leomorgan7418 Pull harder from the top if you have the same model, in the video you can see the exact clamps and how they are positioned. Just be carefoul not to brake it its a plastic afterall.
