unladen car with no passengers, constant revs and speed, no overtaking, ac off, Windows closed,no constant gear changes would do wonders in any car, although great effort!! kudos to the driver who drove without AC in a closed cabin.

1000 rpm, 50kmph, no ac, driver only, 1350kg car, 1338 km, 32.91 litres of diesel..... one superb car lodgy with1.5 litre renault engine gives a whoooooping 42 kmpl. . Thug life !!!!!!!

A for effort. The maximum I've achieved so far is 27 kpl. That was on a Ciaz petrol with the AC on under moderate Bangalore city traffic. The drive was absolutely boring and needed a lot of stamina. Kudos to Rahul kakar.

There was a time when cabbies were dependent on Innova for its reliability.But now lodgy would be a more than perfect option when it comes to mileage and reliability.But in terms of reliability and quality,no car can beat toyota.I'm just 14 yrs old and I always purchase autocar magzine every month.My dad owns a 2009 Honda City I-VTEC and the mileage has dropped drastically from 15KMPL to 12KMPL in just 7 yrs and 40000km clocked.The reason is that honda engines are very-very reliable and can cross 200000km mark,but what we need time to time servicing.Because servicing of car according to the schedule will let us to stretch every litre out of the engine.And Hormazd sir,you are my inspiration.

I am keeping my revs between 1000 -1400 on my Ford Figo and efficiency has gone up from 11kmpl to 16.6 kmpl.

We can achive this avg. as in the video the motor doesnt cross 1500 rpm I think, but we can not do that as driving at 40 to 50 kmph takes a long time.. But a very nice attempt.

Reno, If your lodgy can return 42KMPL then any idea how much can your 800CC KWID can give? please also share the fuel efficiency of your KWID... I am getting 9.5 KMPL in Bangalore traffic with AC ON. (I am sorry to compare a diesel v/s petrol cars, however the 800cc engine KWID should atleast return 20KMPL in City with AC is my expectation)

I am driving in Kolkata and i have driven just 1200km but the mileage is horrible with AC. With AC on I am getting 10.8kmpl and without ac it rises a lot to 15kmpl

Yatin - Mileage depends on traffic, average speed in bangalore traffic is 10KMPH, in this speed, KWID give 10KMPL, same car if average speed is > 20KMPH, mileage was 18KMPL. Tested the same... My other 2 cars returned decent mileage in samw traffic conditions (Swift Dezire VXI 17KMPL, Safari Storme EX 14.5KMPL)

i drove from kochi to kolhapur in a single strech in 15 hours my car gave me 15.5 kms with ac and speed mostly 120km/h .on return strech speed was lower and took 4days it gave me more than 22kms/l

so much disciplined drive dat even my dad wont even make it out. 1 REV RPM. Hats Off Buddy for such a drive. My patience level would have gone above d the mark. Highway drive at night. still a better mileage considering its competitors.I can except a mileage of around 30 KMPL. Good.

Horrible Mileage. If this is the case, why people prefer other cars .Anyway If this true, It increases it's popularity in the market automatically. 800 cc engine cars should give > 100 kmpl if driven by same driver then. Thanks for showing how to get highest mileage.

SRIDHAR NEELI then my swift dzire will give 30 kmpl if driven like that, 6 ltrs that is 500Rs of fuel I can go 180 kms.

Well, it is not. Spec wise it is a good car with Renault's best diesel engine. Driving wise it is definitely better than the innova based on my test drive.
