Your van looks amazing! 😍There are so many great ideas in there. I love the beach look that came with the wood panels. Also, the slid-out seat at the back is a great addition, watching the sunset from their would be a dream. 🙂 We always debate on the pizza oven in our van which we are currently converting, and your video just triggered that conversation again. Let's see who will win! 😂

2:15 love the jar idea but keep in mind that in case of a crash those jars will be propelled forward and become a very dangerous barrage of sturdy glass projectiles which will shatter on impact with the front seats, other pieces of furniture and most worryingly: the back of you lovely peoples heads... The surgeons at the hospital will have a jolly good time extraction the assorted mason jar bits from your skulls... I have seen the result of this type of quirky and practical way of storing first hand after I rolled up onto a camper van crash site first aiding those injured mainly from foreign object damage largely caused by the mason jar deceleration canon... I recommend you try to find soft plastic alternatives for the mason setup. I agree they are great, very handy, practical and safe a ton of space but they can be very dangerous and will cause crazy amounts of damage and injury... Not trying to be a safety nancy but I am trying to prevent you from getting skinned by quirky storage systems... The separating wall between the cab and the living space helps but it might be too little... please look into it...
@Wottiesvanlife3 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your passionate comment. It's not something we had thought about. We think in an event of a serious crash there are a number of things that would do us harm. Let's hope we never find out what they are. Thank you for watching our video. 🙂

Hi guys! Gorgeous van, just about to convert a Master, what oven/ hob combination have you got? Have you put any space for the heat to disperse when using it?
@Wottiesvanlife3 жыл бұрын
Hey Ross thanks for watching and subbing, we really appreciate it. The oven in this video is just a simple portable camp oven. You don't need a gas compliance certificate for it as it not hard pipe connected. You just have to be vigilant and turn the gas off when you have finished using it (not ideal) I put some fc sheeting on the cupboards around it to protect from heat. If you watch our updated video we have actually taken it all out now and don't have an oven at all as we found we didn't use it that often and we give the reasons why. Cheers
@janinetaylor31734 жыл бұрын
I’m interested to know about your gas set up - great build, the colours and the cladding are awesome!!
@Wottiesvanlife4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Janine, our gas is a 7kg bottle housed in a sealed compartment vented on the side of the van and down through the floor. Our next build we probably won't have a big bottle though, even though we'd had no problems with it, I'd feel happier with the smaller gas cylinders in future. It's very economical though, we pay around $20 Aus each fill and only do the twice a year. Beats paying the gas company prices in a house. Thanks for you comment sorry took me a while to reply 👍
@janinetaylor31734 жыл бұрын
Wottiesvanlife - cool thanks for that - just wondering if there is a requirement for the venting externally or just through the floor - i’ve been searching for but haven’t found anything here in Qld in terms of guidance in this regard - haven’t checked with any experts as yet as van and starting the build are a few months off (more potentially with COVID!) i’m thinking of one of the sealed lockers in the cabinet which goes across where the sliding door is - gas stove on top - vented through the floor and but accessible only when the sliding door is open 4.5kg tank. Any advice or insights greatly appreciated. Cheers
@Wottiesvanlife4 жыл бұрын
As far as we know QLD law is the gas bottle has to be in a sealed cupboard and vented, accessible from the outside only but unless you're going to sell I suppose it's really up to you how you do your own 👍

Great van, also considering the Renault, any comments on whether it is a good running vehicle? One thing I missed, where is the shower? Thx
@Wottiesvanlife4 жыл бұрын
We are happy with our Renault master, had a few repairs but it is a 2012 model so to be expected. We don't have a shower in our van we decided it would take up too much space, we haven't missed having one and have plenty of places to shower available to us so we are sorted. Thanks for your interest.

Thx for quick reply, I understand the cargo height is 1894mm, adding the fan and floors, will it be too short to stand up straight? I am not very tall so shouldn't be a problem. (unless u have a different height for ur Renault)

Hey, thanks for watching. Its a fiamma F65s. Its 3.5 metres in length. We didnt use it much in the first year but use it a lot now. It works better if you have the legs tied to the ground rather than the van clips. You also have to keep an eye on it in windy conditions.

Love it ! Where do you park ? What’s the rules in Au
@Wottiesvanlife4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Jennifer, day use areas are everywhere but over night parking is illegal here so lots of stealth camping or driveway surfing or bush camping cheap is our favourite. In Australia where we are we are not as lucky with the legislation on free camping in our area.
