Looking at family EVs and currently owning an estate car, boot space remains a concern. Can a car transport a baby trolley as well as a few luggage items, without being a monster sized SUV which is too wide for European backroads for comfort!

It's actually real wood and "fake" leather 100% recycled material in the cars shown at the expo (if I remember correctly). The wood is ultra thin laser perforated with a cotton layer on the back.

It's called "wood veneer" in the furniture industry. Less than 1 mm of real wood and the cotton layer is there so the sheet of wood does not get torn. The laser perforation is a novelty though.

How is leg space Behind when the driver seat is in my position? I am 2 meters tall? And head room in the back? Is it possible to sit there when you are as tall as me? The ioniq 5 had insane inside room!

I just have a red MX5 car, so I would go for the darker grey which is not too dark and makes the curves more visible in the same time than a lighter or too dark color. I think it's the one which is cut to show the technical inside. I like their paints, they are really sparkling. I like the fact that they maximized the inside space instead of having a frunk, I'm not a fan of this tendance anyway and in a short car like this there is no room to loose for people inside. The trunk is very deep which might not be the easiest to load sometime, but it's not a big car and it is very well done inside and quite big, very square, so more space usable and having the opening this high avoid to have the trunk door at the place of the bumper, which is really bad, so it's a small bad for a good, and I can live with that. I agree with you on the ambient light which would have been great in the back too. Over all, I really like this car, and the embedded system is amazing. 👍 I think it's gonna be my next car. Edit : I went on the Harman Kardon site and they talk about what they have done about the sound system in this car... And this seems to be incredible, like very high tech feature allowing to virtualise the sound in 3D individually for each occupant, and each person is gonna hear the sound stage perfectly like if they were all in the very good place. For example the sound supposed to come from the center is gonna come right in front of you and not from the center front of the car, no matter where you are sit. They talked also about how each occupant can have his own sound atmosphere effect (live, concert, intimated, right in the middle of the players and singers, studio, or even very close) I have heard about a tech like that still in development at this time, it was about to cross sound waves to generate a sound where there wasn't any speaker at this place, making you feel that the sound was coming from the center of a room for example, when the speakers are in the corners. It was allowing sound in 3D, a kind of hologram but for sound. I wonder if they use this tech. They use this tech to suppress a sound by crossing opposite waves, it must be some derivative technology. I also wonder if they have used this tech to generate the security alert sounds of the car system, to make you ear the sound from where the danger or alert is coming. I heard that Renault was on that too. I'm so excited right now, It's gonna be the longest 6 month ever.

@@talkandplay I ordered one in Sweden. Delivery time is expected in August or September, maybe a bit earlier they said. Not too bad considering that people need to wait till next year for EV6 and Ioniq 5.

The trunk looks like it could've been made better, space-wise and too bad there's no frunk. Otherwise, the car looks very good outside and inside and of course a big plus for the google OS. Looking forward to the real world tests

I only found one test on the pre production one (short but still it's something) and he told me that he should be able to show more in October, because on this one he wasn't allowed to show more because it was before presentation. I wish Renault and psa would go beyond the 50kwh packs especially when vw offer 77kwh options , it doesn’t make much sense to keep just the 50kwh in bigger models especially when demand for longer range models still exist

The difference in range is not huge because the e-tech much lighter and more efficient. This is a rather good strategy in my opinion, because people pay less in electricity on the long run.

I'm not completely sold on the front design, especially those LED lights. They could be of a different shape in my opinion. But the side and rear design is just gorgeous. It looks like a chunky car although it's quite small one. Interior design is nice but even the top tier model doesn't feel like premium. Those hard plastics look cheap.
