Hi Steve. Not been on myself for a month or two as my desktop decided to pack it in. I had a good innings with it, being over 10 years old. So I treated myself to a new one, but downside is that I lost all my KZbin people, and apologies, but I forgot about you. But I did in the end, so doing some catch-up. Its lovely when you get people changing their jobs and going down different routes because they've been watching you. You sir, are an inspiration🤗

Good to pair you up with the new folks - you certainly know your stuff and are a great example of working safely and smartly. Am glad you covered that street drain - don't want to lose any bolts or washers down there! It's amazing all the knowledge you have about all the different truck configurations.

Thanks for sharing Steve. Great that you've encouraged someone to take on the role through your videos. Interesting to see the half shaft replacement on this one. And yes, safety first as always where predictable busy traffic is concerned.

I laughed when you mentioned that you sometimes forget to take your marker board and rear number plate off the recovered vehicle I deliver trucks on trade plates and sometimes forget to remove the plates. Usually remember when I’m on the train home.😊

Another excellent video I admire your work ethic both in terms of safety, having to undertake such tasks in a hazardous environment, and with regard to considering pollution e.g. covering the storm drain. The only other related videos I find of interest and enlightenment that I watch are those of Ron Pratt over in Missouri at Midwest Truck.

Hi Steve, you and your colleagues knowledge when recovering vehicles is top drawer as on this Renault the hand brake and the settings I'm old school; so it was a manuel hand brake in my time even checking the oil and water has changed for the driver now mostly computer done.
@HeavyRecoverywithSteve Жыл бұрын
Hi Peter thanks for watching , manual handbrake for me as well , recovering a few trucks now with electronic park brakes faults coming up as warnings on dashboards.

Hi Steve. When you put forks under the front axle Ive noticed that you put them sometimes too close to the middle. Wouldn't it be more stable if you put them more outboard, say between the u bolts? I would quickly bow to your experience, but is this not possible? Probably some of your viewers would put me right on this. Love the content keep it coming Peter Liverpool
@HeavyRecoverywithSteve Жыл бұрын
Hi thanks for watching , normally Pete you be better on a wider pick up against the u bolts as you say , but on some axles the axle gets narrower by the u bolts so a normal size fork would slop around and twist as Renault truck in video. So on this axle which is the same as Volvo us i now tend to locate fork on thicker section on bend so fork want slide inwards i hope this makes sense mate.

Hi Steve, seen lots of your videos now but not seen an accident damaged vehicle. Do you do this sort of work or is it one of those situations where you feel it’s best not to film someone else’s misfortune? Great channel by the way….
@HeavyRecoverywithSteve Жыл бұрын
Hi Michael thanks for watching , unfortunately i cant film all the work i do , most trucks and buses i recover our all fully signed up and companies dont want to see there vehicles being towed. I have had to remove several videos now just because of small logos that the company recognised on film.
@michaelbrownlow9577 Жыл бұрын
Thanks for taking the trouble to reply Steve. I really enjoy the channel and think I could almost do it myself now apart from the air lines, the half shaft removal oh and the chains. In fact what am I thinking - leave it to Steve!!! Puzzled by you are very selective about when you use the beacons. I would have thought in this day and age they would be on all the time when towing?@@HeavyRecoverywithSteve
