Great review, that took a lot of work. I was impressed by the range. By the way, my 15 year old daughter says you look like the animated character, "Ken", from "The Bee Movie" I must say... there is a slight resemblance...

Good one Derek we love our Zoe 50 135GT with CCS charging, we go everywhere in it Belfast & back last week. Probably the best EV on the market.

CCS is a must! A great car.

@@NevoEVReviewIreland I don't think CCS is a must on the Zoe especially in Ireland. All the 'slow' public chargers are 22kw where a full charge from 20% only takes 2 hours Vs 70-90mins on a 50kw fast charger.

Great little car Derek, Id say you would make it no problem in the summer, I did over 75,000 km in my 22kw Zoe over 18months without any problems (had to make a lot of stops though, no stops now in the Soul). Keep up the good work.

Thanks Jimmy. Yes, a bigger battery helps but as you say, they'll all go the distance but just a little extra planning. The range and efficiency on the Soul is great in fairness

Hi Derek, good honest and practical range assessment of the Zoe's range. You should make contact with Adrian Weckler of the Independent. He has his doubts about the practicality of doing this exact journey in an EV. Why not organise to do a car share the next tome both of you are going to Belmullet.

That was good range for the Temperature and with heating on. Just shows the lower charging speed isnt an issue, especially with most Fast chargers at 50kw around the country. I was watching another review and mentioned the Seat wasnt adjustable in height and if thats corrrect did you have any issue with that. I had the ze40 for a while, sorry i let that one go , but happy with the Ioniq 28kwh model im driving nearly 2 years now. Also still has 22kw AC charging, making it a great all round car.

Thanks for the comment Stephen. 50kWh is plenty for most. All we need is enough to get to our next charger, not a full fill. No issue with the seat adjustment. The IONIQ 28 is a great car and 22kWh is a big bonus

That's impressive range on a cold day, wonder would night make much difference using full headlights.

LED headlights use about 20W per bulb, so 12 hours of mainbeam would use about 1% of the battery. Put another way it would take about 7 weeks of constant headlight mainbeam to run the battery to 0%.
