Thanks for the video. My R110 2020 model, had a motor replacement at 63k kms due to this issue. Fortunately under the warranty, or i would have to pay around 9K €. Here in Lisbon, you can see thousands of these cars and many many of them with this noise!

Yeah Renault charge £3,500 just for the motor itself, then plus fitting it’s around £6,000. We can do it with a used low mileage or rebuilt motor for around £2,500 with warranty.

@@garycevrepairs That is great. I work with this car and do around 200 kms / day (Uber). Now it has 115 K kms with no problems yet. I wonder if this “new” motor will eventually have the same issue, because the warranty is gone… 😔 Thanks for the reply sir.

372k km and mine just start yesterday to do this noise ...

@@Adrian_Calin 372k kms? Wow! That motor has definitely done his job. Didn't know they could do so many kms. 👌🏻

Glad I have a q motor on mine, wasn't sure when I got it but wanted the efficiency at 3kw charging and in 2016 rapid ac was not common, my 2016 zoe has done 67k miles

Mine is also a ZE 40 Q90 ( 2017 ) 83,000 Miles

Hi thanks for the video. I realised i have the same sound like the high pitch sound like electric stuff but no rattling. Is it normal or am i in very early stage? 😢
@garycevrepairs5 ай бұрын
Hi if it’s a high pitched whine it may be nothing to worry about. The bearing noise is a hollow rumble. The ac compressors on Zoe’s are also quite noisy. Cheers

Is the bearing issue with both makes of electric motors? The 'R' Renault made motor and the 'Q' (Quick Charge) motor made by Continental?
@garycevrepairs5 ай бұрын
Hi, the R motors suffer from bearing issues however the reduction gear on the Q motor have also been known to have bearing issues (no bearing issues on the Q motors itself) but it’s a less common issue on the Q and also easier to fix !!

Hi. I have Q engine and sound on passenger side like wheel bearing but not so sharp sound. No movement on tyre. Were shell I start to look ?

I have a clonking noise like something is loose on one end in the engine compartment and while passing road bumps it goes clonk-clonk-clonk not really in the same rhythm as the bumps but rather provoked by them... like a spring struck just once then it reverberates. Wheels linkages seem to be fine at a first "mk1 eyeball" inspection and pulled by hand, nuts look at they place. If car is stopped and I rock it it doesn't make the noise. I tried to shake/move the engine with my hands but nothing moves. Needless to say car works fine otherwise. I am a bit reticent to go to a dealer being afraid is probably nothing serious but I might get ripped of money....

Most likely front suspension - if you have a jack and can raise each front wheel and try to rock it side to side. Sometimes it’s easier to get someone else to look behind while you do it, if you can feel the knock then look at the ball joint just behind the bottom of the brake disc and drop links. Cheers

@@garycevrepairs Thanks for the answer. I have a jack and I will check today. Someone else said he had similar noise and it was a planetary arm/connection at fault. I think the knocking is mostly when car is going straight and "unloaded" of acceleration. While turning and in acceleration rarely does it. Will see... Thank you again!
@zaelu7 күн бұрын
@@garycevrepairs I did a check and I couldn't find any play or noise when pulling on the wheels or any of the linkages while suspended on jack. I pulled also on the planetary connection and on the right is seems to have a small if any play... I think is normal though on the left side it has none at all. I've also put the car on drive while suspended on the jack and turn the wheels left and right while rolling at "relanti" and I heard no noise. Could it be a engine mount rubber dampener? I am out of ideas now :) .

What’s the price of the bearings? Aprox 😊
@garycevrepairs29 күн бұрын
Hi it really depends which ones you use. I know a few people who have replaced bearings and what they use varies a lot. Some of the bearings that fit are £20 each but others are £120…
