Very enlightening ; there doesn't seem to be much advantage time wise in cruising above 110km/h, plus it is cheaper than driving at 130km/h.

Chris, really appreciate your systematic test. FYI when you eventually get a Taycan to test be aware that range mode defaults to 110kph but can be adjusted up to 140kph.

Thanks. I don't think I will ever get a Taycan though.

@@BatteryLife I am not so sure. You may get a local fan that has one. That wants to borrow your ID.3. 😏 That's how Bjorn got to get his first Taycan to review.

Wonder why consumption is that much more going from 110 to 130, while the eUp has a more linear curve.

Chris, I have a suggestion for a topic for a new video. Many EV vlogers comment about not having shade and window cleaning items at EV chargers, but thinking about it. How much money do EV stations make per day vs petrol? Even assume 100% utilization so maybe just calculate per busy hour. I mean net, sat for a Circle K, but may be difficult to get costs for petrol vs price and commercial costs for electricity.

Nice idea. But I have no inside view on costs and stuff for gas stations and charging stations. It will eventually come that chargers are rain protected and you can use the normal services.
@ronb46334 жыл бұрын
@@BatteryLife I am sure it will eventually come, but I don't think that they are as profitable; though I guess that they are unmanned so no direct salary except charging washer fluids and cleaning trash and restrooms.

Very useful test. Does this Zoe have 16 or 17 inch wheels?
@BatteryLife4 жыл бұрын
That is true, that would have been useful to know. 17 inch 195 tyres.
@realJimPanse4 жыл бұрын
@@BatteryLife Are you sure? I drive a Zoe with wheels like the ones in the video and I'm quite certain these are 16 inch.

The charging time for eUp for second and third measurement looks wrong. With 110 km/h your table says eUp needs 70 minutes for charging, but when it was driven 130 km/h the table says just 65 minutes. How is that possible?
@BatteryLife4 жыл бұрын
This is not the time just for charging! This is driving 60 km with that speed plus charging to the same SOC. This is how I find out the best speed for travelling long distance.

@@BatteryLife Sorry my bad. You are right. I was thinking in wrong direction.

Such a big difference in efficiency between ZOE and IONIQ. At 90KMH if ZOE 50 would be as efficient as IONIQ you could do based on calculations 480 KM. AT110 KMH you could do 373 and at 130KMH >>> 306 KM. All this purely theoretical. Renault should really work on a more efficient motor in my opinion.
@BogdanPurcaru3 жыл бұрын
It's not only the motor, IONIQ is very aerodynamic

He was driving 90 and I didn't want to slow him down. It was only for 30 sec where I had to speed up to 93 instead of 91.
