Doesnt need a more thin , liquid cement part first ? If not, in which case this need ?
@SamDaviesBuilder2 жыл бұрын
Sorry I’m not sure what type of plastering needs a liquid coat first

Did you mix just cement and sand or did you add waterproofer to the render?
@SamDaviesBuilder2 жыл бұрын
I added a plasticiser to the mix. You could add a waterproofer/retarder if you didn’t want to use a plasticiser. You have to add one or the other to make it a workable mix

How thick is the scratch coat bud and the top coat 👍
@SamDaviesBuilder3 жыл бұрын
25 - 30 mm for both coats. So 12.5mm each coat roughly. Depends on what the wall is like too for how thin/thick it is, if the wall is all over the place then you’ll have to be a bit thicker to be able to straight edge it flat

@@SamDaviesBuilder cheers bud it’s just the stop beads are only 12.5 mm thick so was wondering why they weren’t thicker 👍
@SamDaviesBuilder3 жыл бұрын
@@rockroll456 you can get thicker stop beads in the plastic versions. I tend to put stop beads on the scratch coat and just use the ones for the 12.5mm thickness

@@SamDaviesBuilder thanks reply could u help I plan to render inside of a pond would I need to do it in 1 go or could I split it to 2 times Thsnks
@SamDaviesBuilder3 жыл бұрын
@@ferguson077 if it’s being rendered to waterproof it you don’t really want a join but if it’s not then you could do it in sections

@@SamDaviesBuilder What is the difference of building sand to plastering sand ? Its broken stone and sea sand you mean ?
@SamDaviesBuilder2 жыл бұрын
@@babakopoulo plastering sand uses finer grains so it’s easier to float
