You guys seemed disappointed with Bill's appearance? How can you be disappointed with one of the most developed characters ever introduced in the Nostalgia Critic. So much depth to him it's actually really beautiful. His role is something that can never be replaced. Bill has been there since the beginning and will continue to inspire us. Movie: “The Enchantress is going to destroy the city, and only the suicide squad can stop her!” Me: 😐 Nate: Cheeko’s tummy isn’t feeling well… Me: Oh my goodness, is he ok?! 😱
@TwistedSynn7 жыл бұрын
The creators did not understand the point of the Suicide Squad, The Suicide Squad was not created in the comics to stop Superman to think any of these villains could stop Superman is horse shit. They were created to pull off the dirty secret missions for Cadmus and since they are villains they can deny any connection to them and they will take all the blame and be sacrifice. That's the reason they are called Suicide Squad they are expendable scapegoats. Nothing to do with them being able to take down Superman level heroes or villains. They should have just went with the Assault on Arkham story line.
@Kage-pm6qi7 жыл бұрын
Exactly, this is what irks me the most about this movie it gave the mainstream a false impression of this group, half the fun of the Suicide Squad is how hostile towards each other they are, and you'r right Assualt on Arkham is exactly what this movie should have been: a Heist/Spy flick featuring villains not a shamless Guardians of the Galaxy Rip Off(this statement is even sadder because the teams couldn't be any more different from each other)

The reason why Suicide Squad wasn't a total success among comic book fans was because DC bowed down to the parents of kids who wanted to see it. Halfway through production they got bombed with letters and emails from parents begging them to lower the age rating from R to PG13. Not to mention this movie was supposed to be ALLOT darker then what was intended in the current state. When the movie Deadpool came out it became one of the highest Comic Books Box office hits in history because it was rated R. The parents once again tried to organize and beg Marvel to re-edit the movie before it came out and lower it to a PG13 rating but Marvel did no such thing. Deadpool stayed R and went onto to it's currently glory while Suicide Squad was riddled with plot holes, inconsistent pacing and just downright poor decisions on the developers part.

Diablo is actually the only character that is redeemable enough to be a hero, he has a tragic backstory, he has an interesting dilemma with the guilt resting on his shoulders and if the character was done well I'd say maybe he'd hold a movie on his own, the problem is that the scene with his backstory is done in the most clichéd way possible, his supposed "dilemma" of shunning his powers is resolved anticlimactically and he's already dead so there's not really much for him.

If they had done what Assault on Arkham did, it would have been fine. Make the squad Amanda Waller's disposable hit squad, put a hero in the way as a primary obstacle, and let the villains act like mother fucking villains are supposed to act. These guys should be self serving assholes jumping on the first opportunity to screw over Waller they can find, not a bunch of wannabe anti-heroes the movie tries to convince you are good people deep down. Even Deadshot is only ever presented as professional in how he acts with her, but as soon as someone hands him a chance to put a bullet in her head, he'd be all over that.

I agree when the critic says Harley is more open to change. However, with Joker being vulnerable to Harley, hell nooo!!!! Joker doesn't care about anyone, Batman even says it more than once in every incarnation of them. This movie totally missed the point of the Suicide Squad. They aren’t people who save the world. They do missions for the government that are so dangerous that the government doesn’t want to send soldiers and missions that break laws that cannot be traced back to the government. The Suicide squad is supposed to be retrieving data disks that tell the names of foreign agents from a foreign military base, not saving humanity.
@bigbosshonchkrow6253 жыл бұрын
Far superior movies for the suicide squad are Batman Assault on Arkham or Suicide Squad Hell to Pay. These portray the Suicide squad acting as they should be in the proper role for them. They also make it clear the members of the squad are not buddies but people forced to work together.

Joker's a psychopath, a monster, his relationship with Harley is ABUSIVE, It's one of the main things that had fans of Harley like her in a "I pity you" sort of way, because many of us would just be begging to see her break free of Joker's clutches once and for all and would be all the more empowering to women to see someone who fell for the wrong guy break free from him, and believe it or not, THAT'S HOW WE, THE FUCKING FANS, LIKE IT!....And they get Joker so dead wrong in this film...What does he do, He's a psychotic criminal mastermind that tells bad jokes and laughs like a buffoon...THAT'S ALL WE NEEDED FROM THE FUCKING JOKER AND JARED LETO DID LITERALLY NONE OF THAT!!! I think the main problem with Suicide Squad, is that it introduced villains and characters that should've made appearances in 1, 2 and possibly 3. Right off the bat, we are thrown into this DC Universe, where the superheroes have been active a good while and have already encountered these villains. Marvel has a list of villains who are still currently alive in their cinematic roster. And if they ever decide to make a movie version of "The Thunderbolts", they at least have villains already introduced and whom we know about. Suicide Squad, like Batman V Superman, is another DC and Warner Brother's attempt to start big from the top, and build the DC Universe up from that. Like trying to build a house by starting with a roof. Marvel built its house (aka Cinematic Universe) from the floor and up. While DC is currently building theirs by starting with the roof first and are trying to follow up with a floor and walls to lift it. DC and Warner Brothers are rushing it just to keep up with Marvel. And that's not a good way to build a Cinematic Universe.

My favorite part in the movie was actually me mishearing a line in the office scene, this line was said twice in the movie but the second time completely broke me in the cinema, what i thought i heard was, "they've taken the flag again", and to me that was the funniest thing in the movie, i think they said "they've taken flag again" but i could not find the clip after i saw it in the cinema and since then completely forgot about it, but for someone that has played Unreal tournament, alot, that was funny to me, so the funniest part of the movie, was me hearing the line wrong. The reason it was funny is because it was something i didn't expect, all the way through the movie, i never thought about his name "Rick Flag", and then in the office i realized, and i thought it was a pun, that is why i found it funny, it was the unexpected effect.

To be honest, I thought Suicide Squad was okay. Not good, of course, but not exactly bad either. It had enough good scenes to keep me entertained for a bit, which is more than I can say for Super Jesus: The Movie (aka Man of Steel). Superman was _never_ supposed to be a 'Jesus imagery' type character, he was supposed to be the all-American boy scout. The guy that we could look up to because he never gave up, no matter how bad things got; not look up to because we're supposed to see him as a Jesus-type character. That's why I like the movie with Christopher Reeve so much, they made him human. In that movie, he's a human growing up wondering what the hell he is and why he can do all these things, knowing that if he ever fought back he could kill people or if he ever played sports he could win every time, and struggling with that (downside of his powers versus good side). His human parents raised him with a sense of morality, that just because he _can_ do something it doesn't mean he _should_, yet with all of these powers there are still things he can't do, and in no scenario is that made more painfully clear than when his father dies of a heart attack. As he says in the movie "All these things I can do.....all these *powers* .....and I couldn't even save him." Leading him to struggle with guilt, anger, depression, sadness and a burning need to know *why* he is the way he is if he can't even help people. That is a dramatic scene. Man of Steel totally borked that to hell and back. In that movie, it was his father that was preventing him from doing jack shit to help people, and even going so far as to say he maybe should have let those kids on the bus drown. Which wouldn't make Superman human, it would make him a fucking sociopath. Standing there and just watching the kids drown, then going home for a glass of milk and some pancakes? What the hell kind of moral lesson is that? Then to have his dad just stand there on the freeway and be killed by a tornado, when Clark actually _could_ have saved him any number of ways, just to try and recreate that iconic scene from the original film? It makes no sense. How is that supposed to impart a sense of powerlessness? How is that supposed to set up an internal conflict? But okay, enough bashing. There is actually one scene I thought was okay, and that was the scene of him getting used to one of his powers. I thought it was a good thing the director did by focusing on him growing up a little and struggling with his awakening powers, something the original movie didn't do. So I will give it points for that.

original reason for the suicide squad (as far as i'm aware): covert black ops missions that if they got caught the US could simply go "they're super villains, we cant control them, they're crazy!!" but not before they blew their heads up through bombs implanted in their necks, basically nothing even remotely related to the blue boyscout they get it right in this review, if superman went rogue theyd call wonder woman, or shazam but he hasnt been introduced in the movieverse yet so shhh

This is why I prefer Batman V. Superman to Suicide Squad: Suicide Squad accomplish nothing and it's too DC to be Marvel and too Marvel to be DC. Say whatever you want about BVS, at least it had a purposed, it got something interesting to say the character were interesting and we can actually see the action sequence in the movie where as Suicide Squad does not. Seriously, it ends the same way it begins. And the movie is basically 45% Deadshot, 45% Harley Quinn and 10% for everyone else. Also, the fact that it's basically a "Guardians of the Galaxy" rip off.
@SebasTian583236 жыл бұрын
What was interesting about BvS? Literally all they do is hate each other for doing the same thing, and Lex Luther is nothing like he should be, it literally combines multiple stories just to combine them and doesn't really further their characters and while I get that the Martha scene humanizes Superman to Batman, it still doesn't make sense. Suicide Squad did further characters and things did change, and how is it like GotG? That's about a group of heroes coming together to save the universe and get paid, Suicide Squad is about a group of Villains being Blackmailed into saving a city and still ending up in prison.

Wonder Woman had it's issues but I will say it didn't suck. Also if you haven't seen it already, watch the animated Suicide Squad movie.

You know what would of been a better idea? If instead of doing a grim, dark, and gritty team of villains. Why not do a Teen Titans movie? They're light, colorful, they can have edge and angst. The Teen Titans could have been the solution to Guardian of the Galaxy. Nightwing, Starfire, Raven, Beastboy, and whoever else you want. They could of made an entire five films with just them.

NC's justification for the change in the Joker-Harley relationship simply doesn't work. He claims that Harley is due for further reinterpretations b/c she's only been around since the 90s as opposed to the characters that have been around since the late 30s. The problem w/ that logic is, Joker is clearly the one that was changed by the writers instead of Harley. Effectively breaking the rules of Doug's justification.

Like so many other movies. I'm going to forget this movie existed and just remember the animated one instead. Some of the intros from different channels are starting to overlap with each other. In this case I often hear Darth Vader saying he would be honored if we joined him even though the intros are different.

The best way to use rotten tomatoes scores isn't by the percentages since that number is the portion of critics that gave it a fresh rating. Instead look at the average rating numbers on the side for these films in general.

The original video pretty led me to the realization that Suicide Squad underwent studio interferences whilst everything was going accordingly. And although,this "for the fans" excuse comes in as this video suggests by what the WB executives wanted,the real reason they interfered with the film`s progress was all about money.

Personally the DC animated universe is better than half the garbage they have put out in recent years because actual comic book writers and animators work on them but in the movies no one pays attention to detail except wonder woman DC did their best work with that one because Geoff Johns the writer of rebirth and many other DC masterpieces he actually kept people in mind and did not pull a cheap move and not explain anything because "THE FANS" already know the story

Also Jared Leto's performance has been done before by both Heath and Nicholson and....Possibly Hamill?

I knew the Joker wasn't dead after the helicopter crashed, because in the comics or animated movies, the joker has a habit of surviving death. So I wasn't mad about it.
