It would have been required of Isis to Wrap the body of Osiris after she finished gathering up all 14 of the pieces, that his younger brother Set had scattered all about the lands, after he betrayed and murdered Osiris, and usurped the throne of Egypt. Plutarch doesn't go into great detail as to exactly how Isis accomplished this magical task, but I would Imagine that "Serpents" as a symbol of Energy of some kind, must have been used in this process. The serpent that dwells in the underworld, underground, would have powers capable of bridging the gap between the world of the living, and the world of the dead respectfully. Also the shedding of it's skin and the serpent's connection with rebirth and immortality.

The movement through the underworld is modelled on the movement through the serpentine channels of the body. Also one talks of the stars being eaten by the sun at dawn

Serpents and snakes are central to Egyptian mysteries, hence the suggestion that Renenutet is part of an archaic serpent cult in Egypt. The ouroborus of greek tradition could well be related or derived even from the Egyptian version ... their version of the Ouroboros, also very like Abraxas, is seen for instance in many tombs at crucial points and in for example the shrines of Tutankhamun. I will check see if i recorded more about this in an other films
